  • Felt Like Home

"A very well kept 1920's bungalow - with a second bath addition to the master bedroom - its a perfect fit. The kitchen is nice, the corner kitchen sink and windows are well placed. The location is excellant - two great resturants within walking distance and a good feel for what its like to live in Eureka."

  • Perfect Home for Family Reunion in the Redwoods

"I spent a long time looking for a 6-bedroom house in the Redwoods and was delighted when I discovered Hidden Haven under VRBO. It was the perfect size for our family reunion...two tables to eat at, lots of games, a pool table. Each guest had his/her own bath. If we ever go back to the Redwoods, this is the place we would stay."

  • Relaxing weekend under the Eucalyptus

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I, along with our dogs, had a wonderfully relaxing time in the cabin! We came down for a 4 day weekend, and had plenty of time, and privacy, to allow the dogs lots of swimming time, just feet from the cabin, yet Old Town was just a quick 10 minute ride for window-shopping and dining, if you wanted. We also went hiking down in Humboldt Redwood State park which was an amazing experience. No dogs are allowed on the trails of the state and national parks, so we boarded ours at the Happy Dog in Acata while we were out. They take drop ins, with pick up by 4. The cabin itself was great. Great decor, obvious desigh style. Just the right size for 2 adults, with room to spare, or for a small family. Like others have mentioned, we found fresh flowers, a spotlessly clean interior, and a "minibar". The French press for our morning coffee was a nice way to slow down as well. The kitchen was well stocked with basic utensils, and cutlery. Bring your own food stocks and condiments. The bathroom was roomy enough for 2, including the shower. The floor and furnishings are dog friendly, but the area around the cabin is all dark sand...they WILL be dirty, so come prepared. We brough a ton of our own "dog towels" and extra dog blankets to lay on the floor, in anticipation of this. Which leads me to my only suggestion for improvement: Since the owners are generous enough to allow dogs (PLEASE NO ONE RUIN THIS FOR THE REST OF US!), and the tub/plumbing is already run to the front porch, you might want to add a spigot with a small hose w/ sprayer attachment so that dog owners can spray off their animals, and dry them, before coming in the house, to extend the life of the floor and furnishings. We made it work by partially filling the tub and then using a milk jug to scoop water out...but this doesn't get the sand off their bellies and still allows a lot to get inside. Manager responded on 10/9/2014: Hi Karyn!Tthanks for the great review! We love love it when our guests are extremely happy with their stay and we can't wait to have you back again at Mid-Century Waterfront Home!!"

  • Secluded hideaway nestled among the redwoods

"My husband & I spent the past week in this quaint home away from home to celebrate our 18th anniversary & my birthday. As mentioned in previous reviews, the furnishings, attention to detail inside & out, amidst the quiet nature of the redwoods exceeded our expectations. The views of it through the windows was breathtaking by itself; as if the outdoors were brought right in. The home was more beautiful than the photos shown. Rahi was so kind & hospitable throughout our stay. He really made us feel as if we were friends, not just guests. We did a lot of sightseeing/hiking throughout Humboldt Co. Ate great food in Eureka & Arcata including Farmers Markets. Overall it was a very enjoyable & relaxing trip. Would highly recommend this property to anyone that loves seclusion yet close enough to downtown Eureka & numerous outdoor activities. Definitely would love to stay here again the next time we visit the area."
