"End of March 2015. I don't need much to be happy at the beach, but I just spent a fantastic weekend at the very comfortable Tideaway and loved every minute. You almost have to tear yourself away from the views and the whales...but daytrips to headlands at Russian Gulch, MacKerricher, Jughandle and Pt Cabrillo headlands include more great views and whales with wildflowers...notably deep purple Delphinium and rampant Wild Cucumber this trip. We cooked several meals in the well-appointed kitchen and slept soundly to the rhythmic Pacific soundtrack. Also LOVED the new FB bakery, A Sweet Affair, whose proprietress is creating authentic and delicious french pastry art. Roundman for meats and Harvest Market (gets more upscale every time we visit) are also required shopping stops. Miss the place already. Planning a return while the Spring "sunny season" is with us. Tideaway is as good as it gets. Go. You won't be sorry."

"Ms. Pier, Winnie and Andy: Thank you for the wonderful stay we had. Everything was perfect . . . the tower, the gardens -- everything. We will continue to return to Jade's Tower for all things magnificent! Thank you so very much for making our stay/s so pleasant."

"I came here for 10 days in February to finish a writing project I was working on. I couldn't have chosen a more perfect, serene spot. First, let me say Caspar Cottage is absolutely enchanting. Set in the pygmy forest just east of Mendocino, it's beautifully designed, solidly built and tastefully decorated. Very cozy, too, even on cold days, with the Franklin-stove-like heater. It's small but it had everything I needed and I liked that it was snug. I would like to come back someday with my husband--it has all the makings of a romantic getaway. For my purposes it was ideal: no distractions and, with limited cell service, that included phone calls. The wireless works perfectly - a bonus - so I never felt totally isolated. The owners, Diane and Bob, live on the property and are available if you have any questions. They're lovely people and very gracious. I will definitely be back! Note: While initially I thought I might like a rental with ocean views, I came to realize during my stay that Caspar Cottage was vastly preferable because on days when it's foggy along the coast (which is often in Mendocino) it was sunny in the pygmy forest."

The property manager was very helpful.
The vacation rental was spotless.
I was more than happy with the location.
I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
Sleeping at the edge of the sea was amazing. The view of the coastline from the hot tub could never get old. The house was cozy but definitely needs some small upgrades and work to fix what the ocean air degrades over the years. Keep an eye on little kids and animals because there is no fence at the edge of the sea. I would return to the house for sure for another beautiful weekend."
