  • Lovely home. Dramatic views. Great weekend.

"End of March 2015. I don't need much to be happy at the beach, but I just spent a fantastic weekend at the very comfortable Tideaway and loved every minute. You almost have to tear yourself away from the views and the whales...but daytrips to headlands at Russian Gulch, MacKerricher, Jughandle and Pt Cabrillo headlands include more great views and whales with wildflowers...notably deep purple Delphinium and rampant Wild Cucumber this trip. We cooked several meals in the well-appointed kitchen and slept soundly to the rhythmic Pacific soundtrack. Also LOVED the new FB bakery, A Sweet Affair, whose proprietress is creating authentic and delicious french pastry art. Roundman for meats and Harvest Market (gets more upscale every time we visit) are also required shopping stops. Miss the place already. Planning a return while the Spring "sunny season" is with us. Tideaway is as good as it gets. Go. You won't be sorry."

  • Lovely Little Cottage

"Four of us (err, five including my dog) just stayed at this lovely cottage in Mendocino. Two adults stayed in the loft space of the kitchen cottage and two stayed in the main bedroom/bathroom cottage. Both spaces were clean and as adorable as they appear in the photos. The cottage is in a great location providing easy access to town, ocean views, and sunsets. That said, you still feel tucked away in a private location with a hot tub and an outdoor shower. There are lots of beautiful plants and gardens -- it basically looks like a hobbit would live there. The owner was very nice, clear, and easy to deal with when making my reservation. I have no complaints and encourage anyone looking for a nice, relaxing spot in a gem of a small coastal town to consider staying here."

  • romantic getaway

"We wanted to escape for a romantic weekend and this was the perfect place. Cozy, clean, and charming. We truly appreciated the attention to detail, and the simple yet well thought out decorating. We loved the hardwood floors, open beam ceilings, and all the windows displaying the amazing view. It was cold and foggy, but we were happy to escape our hometown heat, and cozy up to the warmth of the little wood stove. We explored nearby Anderson Valley and Mendocino, but honestly the highlight was hanging out in the deckhouse. We will most certainly return."

  • Loved it

"We had a wonderful stay here. the entire family enjoyed it. Great location on main street with a private walkway down to the beach. The art in the house, and the LP records were awesome. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back again!!"
