  • Simply the best

"We have rented properties from Hawaii to Europe and all points in between. Pepperwood is simply the best. It is classic Northern California Redwood Empire strong in its styling and location. The view is amazingly close to the water yet with a level fenced in yard that young children can run and play without worry. The house is California coastal retro, yet is tastefully updated throughout. The kitchen is well equipped and the entire house is white glove clean. When we arrived a fire was already laid and ready for a match in the fireplace. The uniqueness and feel for this home is found in the fact that every angle of the yard and spaces in the home have an incredible view of the surroundings. The flock of Turkeys brought an added thrill to our two young grandchildren. The games and child friendly nature of the house such as a high chair and pack and play were so thoughtful. The location of this house relative to Ft Bragg and the Skunk Train, or Mendocino and its shops is perfect. The beaches are minutes away. Brian and Michelle were very gracious and professional in handling contracts and payments including shipping back a forgotten kid item. We will definitely be back because Pepperwood is simply the best."

  • A fantastic find!!

"This is my first review although we have rented several VRBO properties; this rental beats them all for a large get together. We were a family of eleven from 9 months to 90! The house was great in every way! Pictures don't do the house justice. Open floor plan, with absolutely beautiful views in every direction; bright and airy. Well away from neighboring houses. Clean and well equipped. Large floor to ceiling windows in the living room area. Plenty of room to spread out. Great bedroom space. Fantastic amazingly stocked kitchen with all equipment needed for our 'foodie' family. Well stocked with linens/towels and a large washer/dryer. Huge screen tv with supplied 3D glasses/movies/games for night time entertainment. Very friendly owners who made rental easy. Thanks."

  • A Family Gathering To Celebrate The New Year

"Fabulous! Our family of 15 celebrated the New Year during a period of 5 fun days at the Spring Ranch Victorian House. It is an amazing piece of historic property. We all enjoyed reading the available books to learn the history of the house and property with great interest. We loved cooking in the large kitchen and were able to produce some delicious gourmet meals with the excellent provided cookware. All of us were able to sit around the table in the large dining room. It was good the disherwasher worked well because we had to run it after each meal! The days were spent walking along the nearby coastline and we were able to spot whales bobbing out of the water in the distance. Wish we had brought binoculars with us. We also took drives to other nearby state parks to walk and view other parts of the beautiful coastline. In the evenings, we all enjoyed the large living room playing games, making music (we brought a keyboard and various string instruments) and reading. There are shelves of old books that avid readers of the family found most interesting read. The fire was roaring in the stone fireplace keeping us warm in the cool evenings. Some of the younger generation took advantage of using the hot tub and thought that was an added treat. Thanks for having a washer and dryer. There is no central heating but each bedroom has a portable heater which none of us used because we were all so comfortably warm sleeping under the excellent down comforters. We all slept quite well. This has been a fun and marvelous experience for our family and I highly recommend Spring Ranch for a tranquil vacation."
