  • Peaceful and very Enjoyable!

"Our family of five, two adults and three kids, stayed at this cottage recently. We chose this cottage because the price fit within our budget and there was a hot tub! The owners responded quickly to our email questions and we found them to be kind and accommodating. Online description and photos of this cabin matched what we found when we pulled in. We had some difficulty finding the cabin at first but there is a knee-high rock just off the road with the address and "Redwood Haven Cottage", we just missed that the first time through. Once you get off the road, the cabin is quite a ways back on the dirt driveway. It feels initially like you might be driving somewhere you're not supposed to be but keep following the driveway, the cabin is at the end. The driveway ends and there is a short path that leads to the cabin itself. Lovely tall trees surround the property, we spent quite a bit of time on the patio enjoying the hot tub and fire pit. It was nice to discover metal skewers in the kitchen perfect for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. Adequate firewood and kindling was provided by the owners so we were all set. The cabin was clean and neat and suited our needs perfectly. There is a futon downstairs and a queen bed plus a twin bed upstairs in the loft area. This cabin is suited for a couple getaway or a small family. I believe the owners will consider pet accommodations but we did not travel with any pets. There is a small grocery store in Trinidad along with some local cafes. About 20 minutes south is the larger city of Eureka where you can find a Laundromat and larger stores like Target. Our entire family was very pleased with this cabin and impressed with the kindness of the owners. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends and would definitely stay here again! Things we enjoyed during our stay: Whitewater rafting full day trip on the Trinity River (Redwoods and Rivers, highly recommend) Trinidad State Park Trees of Mystery Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park Sequoia Park and Zoo in Eureka Drive Through Redwood Tree (our Yukon plus cargo carrier fit, amazingly)"

  • Cozy cabin on Exceptional Lot!

"Although the cabin is a little old and full of nicknacks, it is clean and cozy and on one of the most beautiful lots in the area! Never have I had the luxury of practicing yoga on a deck right next to my own personal Redwood! The lot also overlooks a scenic river in a deep canyon. It's only about two minutes from one of the state parks that is incorporated in the Redwood National Park system, and we truly were in awe of that grove so close by! We also enjoyed the older hot tub, once we got the temp regulated, and we liked the little sauna enclosure in the yard! Perfect location close to a little used beach on the river, as well as to all the Redwoods and ocean."

  • Honeymoon Bliss

"We could not have asked for a better Honeymoon spot--private, surrounded by Redwood forest and the crisp ocean air; beautiful, the style and design of the suite with its rustic wood is cute and cozy; comfortable, with a full kitchen we made our own meals most nights and always had the option to lounge about, play games, read and write out on the patio/balcony area when we weren't exploring town (a five minute drive), dining out, enjoying musical concerts, canoeing on Big River, hiking in the National Parks, or picnicking by the ocean. Jennifer made everything easy and was a great help in making our stay extra special. When I saw all the high ratings, I thought it must be too good to be true, but it turns out it is both good and true. My wife and I consider ourselves very fortunate to have resided here for a time. We hope to return."
