"Since we both love redwoods and wine, my partner and I decided to hold our commitment ceremony at Buckner Ranch. We knew it was beautiful from the photos and our first visit to see the property. Still, I cannot emphasize how amazing the place is. Our guests were all besides themselves and called it one of the best vacations they had ever had. On top of the setting, interacting with both John and Palma was an absolute pleasure. We cannot recommend the place enough.
P.S. Although we loved the estate, it is not for everyone. For its size, there are not a lot of private bedrooms: Two in the main house, two in the guest house, and three in the barn. There are a number of comfortable futons that put the sleeping capacity at 20, but your group should be aware of this and ok with it before you book."

"It is almost hard to put into worlds how incredible HHR is. The property is gorgeous, the house(s) are spacious, comfortable, well maintained and beautiful, the activities are endless, and the peace and tranquility are priceless. We had 17 people, ages 1.5 to 83 and we all had a blast. You do not need to bring anything (minus your food!) - the house is stocked full with supplies and toys. So many things to do we didn't even get to them all. The rope swing into the pond was our favorite, but we also spent tons of time in the pool and jacuzzi, on the tennis/basketball court, exploring the trails, playing on the huge grass lawn, zip lining, smores at the fire pit, and so much more. The owner was very helpful and responsive in planning the trip and the caretaker at the property, W. Dan, was always available and so kind, even gave us a tour of the local brewery. We will go back as soon as possible. This place is heaven!"

"Brought a couple of friends here for their birthdays and what a surprise for them. The views are absolutely amazing. The house is well stocked, with all you need to cook with, and have your coffee in the morning. It is very clean and all the details have been thought about. It was fantastic to have the sounds of the ocean lull you to sleep and to have it so nice and cool that you actually need blankets. The fireplace is perfect for those fires in the evenings. It is very peaceful here which we loved. Wine tasting in Anderson Valley/Philo was a great experience. Wonderful wineries there and if you go a little further, I would definitely recommend the wineries in Hopland. Actually liked them better. Come back to this awesome resort have a glass of great wine on the deck and then you can make your own meal or make the 15 minute drive to Mendocino where I will tell the restaurants there will NOT disappoint. This is the place to go if you are looking to get away from it all and have a relaxing vacation.
Seamus the owner is fantastic to work with and will do whatever he can to make your stay the best stay possible.
Highly recommend and look forward to returning in the future."

"What a wonderful place to hide away for a few days. The house is exactly as pictured... gorgeous. We spent every evening watching beautiful sunsets, either from the hot tub or sitting in the great room. House is well appointed. The only negative is poor lighting. The great room is lit by only a couple of wall sconces; no overhead chandelier or larger lighting system. Same with the bedrooms. So the place is very dark at night. It's nice sometimes, but found myself wishing I could SEE. We felt like moles. That said... we'd go back! Maybe bring a lantern next time. :)"
