"This is a wonderful place to stay. The cabin was well appointed and fully equipped and in a great location on the Smith River. The Jedediah Smith portion of Redwoods NP is about fifteen minutes away. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and took care of everything. There are two options to get to the cabin. One is to drive a dirt road which I would not recommend for cars with a very low clearance but we made it without a problem in our sedan. The other option is the suspension bridge. This is the preferred option I think. Every thing was neat as a pin. We used the grill which was great and there is a nice hot tub on the deck. It was very comfy and we will return for sure!"

"This was perfect for a solo long weekend. Comfortable, well equipped, lovely deck and hot tub. Good for reading, soaking, relaxing, cooking and watching DVDs.
Great location. Can drive North to Point Arena or Mendocino (one hour to M), or south to Gualala, Fort Ross, Sea Ranch, etc. Great beaches to hike down to all along the coast. Bring a tide table!
At night you can hear the waves crashing and the seals barking. Just lovely. The info book should be updated. One recommended restaurant isn't there anymore."

"My family which consisted of 4 adult kids and 4 toddlers and me, had a wonderful time at Compass Rose. Sitting out on the furthest point in Sea Ranch, you see ocean and cliffs all around; all the rooms have gorgeous views of this. We all loved the telescope and finding whales. The spa is a delight and the deck is wonderful for coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. The children loved sitting looking out at the waves and walking on the beautiful paths. It was close to beaches for shell hunting and walking in the water...brrr! We saw seals and strange looking birds who stared back at us! Also, there were lots of deer walking very close to the house. It was so peaceful and fun for all, a vacation that was perfect for a large family. As a side note, there is lots of room for little ones to sleep and very comfortable beds for the adults! We would recommend this place to all!!!"

"Joe's cabin in the woods is a cozy, and extremely wonderful little get away. It's a charming one bedroom cabin that we have stayed at several times with wonderful memories made each and every time. The owners are super great people, making sure that little homey touches are added upon request. They are easy to communicate with in case of a problem or if there are needs to be met while you stay there. It's great for people with one or two kids who are able to be cozy and who have a car to go on excursions. There is a PLETHORA of things to do in the area from natural wonders to little touristy stops and everything in between. The cabin is priced just right and we have made this the go to rental each time we are in the area. This cabin, it's owners, and the area is just the thing for a weekend (or week!) away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities."
