  • The raiting was a 5, but couldn't seem to get the start to go wherer I wanted them to

"The house was perfect for our needs, comfortable and well stocked with pot, pans, knives, silverware, dishwasher, toaster and charcoal BBQ. We had to purchase more paper towels and TP but that was to be expected."

  • Very enjoyable experience

"We stayed at Playa Linda recently for Thanksgiving week. What I really appreciated was the extra service provided by the owners, and the overall cleanliness and the extremely well stocked kitchen. Even had some spices and basic condiments available. Having to buy pepper and salt, cook with 2-3 basic pans and most of all having to CLEAN the home after staying have always been sore spots for me; HERE none of that is true. I even emailed the owner Linda and asked about their wine cooler. She said help yourself. Some of the wines have their own name on the bottles, and I understand they were very enjoyable (I don't drink). The one downstairs bedroom does receive noise from the bedroom directly above it, as there is NO insulation under the floor of the upstairs bedroom. That would be the only thing I would criticize. It might be worth fixing. I really appreciated the accommodating welcoming spirit of the home and it's owners. To those who would take issue with small things, I would suggest trying a stay in one of the homes offered by some of the biggest agencies at Sea Ranch. When you can't do basic cooking and have to do your own maid service before you leave you will appreciate an owner who bothers to stock their kitchen (with wine even) and has a cleaning service hired for you as part of the rental. Nice views from most rooms. There is a fireplace in the main living area facing the ocean, so if you must have a full on panoramic view of the ocean you might look elsewhere. I found there was plenty of open window views of the ocean and meadows. It was quite refreshing and peaceful, as Sea Ranch is meant to be. BTW it is also quite close to Gualala for those quick shopping trips. The outdoor area is well fenced for security for smaller children. We found the media to work fine. My bed was extremely comfortable (downstairs). It felt like the others were comfortable and well stocked with linens and warm comforters. There is a telescope in the loft on the mezzanine. Don't know about a Girls getaway. I'm not a girl (woman). Seems like it would be well appointed for that purpose. If you didn't have a car, you would have to find a way to get to town or be sure to bring your own groceries when you arrive. If you wanted to bike to town it would be close enough to do that. Lots of nice walks through the meadow and close to the beach and bluff walks."

"This is by far the best property my wife and I have ever stayed at. It is truly unbelievable. You are isolated, the view is second to none and if you have dogs, the 3-4 acre fenced area makes it easy to let them explore while you are doing your thing. Such an incredible place. We never go to the same place twice but I could definitely see us coming back to fox ridge."

  • Beautiful, comfortable home in spectacular location

"Thank you for a wonderful opportunity to spend a relaxing week on the northern California coast in a peaceful, comfortably elegant and well-appointed home. We settled in easily and enjoyed the spacious layout, plentiful natural light and privacy. Although the house is quite close to Highway 1, there was not a lot of traffic noise, especially at night, and we could hear the ocean waves from the bedroom. The trees around the back of the house, along with its situation at the end of a cul-de-sac, lend a sense of seclusion to the property. We took several walks each day along the extensive network of Sea Ranch bluff trails, enjoying miles of spectacular views. We also liked the convenience to both the town of Gualala, a few miles north, and places to the south of Sea Ranch, such as Fort Ross and Salt Point State Park. The house itself was clean, well maintained and pleasant, with many thoughtful details. There were just two of us, but we could imagine that a family or two couples would find the house more than adequate. The perfect early-winter retreat!"
