  • What a View!

"There is no way to improve the view. It is fabulous. Being able to pull into the garage and unload is great. We celebrated our daughters 50th birthday. It was perfect. I have dealt with Leslie before and she is very kind and accommodating. Will look forward to dealing with her again. She is extremely knowledgeable about the homes. Thank you."

  • Great View!

"This was a great room! Four of us (two couples) stayed here very comfortably for two nights, we were just in town for a weekend for a wedding. The view is beautiful. There was a very nice hot tub that was perfect for us after a long day of helping at the wedding. It would really be much more comfortable for just 1 couple of course, but it was good for us since it was a short stay. Nice secure place with a gate that requires a code and a door that requires a code, I felt very safe leaving our stuff there while we went out during the day. The house is big and beautiful and it is very private feeling. I will definitely stay there again!"

  • Peaceful and perfect for us!

"We arrived just before it began raining for two days. We got to watch the river go through the changes of rising and muddy to blue/green and perfect for fishing right from the living room window of this cozy log cabin in the woods. The owners were nearby to answer any questions we might have had, but greeted us upon arrival and filled us in on the simple workings of things. Having plentiful wood for the stove as well as Monitor heat to take the chill off while the fire takes off made it a cozy place to weather the storm and enjoy relaxing for the remainder of the week. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, glassware and even a dishwasher to make clean up a breeze. Lots of books, puzzles, playing cards, pads to keep score gave us much to do while we waited out the storm. We will definitely be booking this pet-friendly place again. Bill, Renay and their dog, Sasha were wonderful hosts."

  • Off the beaten path

"We drove to Arcata to spend New Years with our goddaughters. We traveled with their mom and needed a place that would be comfortable for the three of us. Krista's chalet was perfect. Very comfortable. Well provisioned. Our stay there was delightful. As a bonus it was a wonderful gathering place for us all to eat pizza and play games. Here's a few suggestions for future renters: * Don't arrive at night. If you're not familiar with the area, the property is hard to find. The passage under the freeway thru a culvert, the imposing gate, the narrow winding dirt road, the misleading left turn... it was like something out of a 'B' horror movie, except with a happy ending. * The imposing gate looks like it's locked, but it's not. Just push it open. * We had the downstairs apartment and were a bit unlucky a couple nights since the upstairs guest had a 7-year-old who was learning to jump rope. The upstairs noise was more than a little distracting. Fortunately he went to bed early. * There was not really enough towels or blankets. You might think of bringing some extras. * There's no broadcast TV, but there is a DVD. Consider bringing a couple of your favorite movies. Our issues were all very minor. If our goddaughter doesn't graduate soon, we'd love to rent the chalet again next year. Highly recommended!"
