  • Best on the Lake!

"We had a fabulous stay! The Heron House is amazing. We all felt so comfortable and relaxed. The setting/ grounds are beautiful and everything we could possibly need was there. A great place for family to gather and enjoy precious time together. The commitment and effort you have put into this property has created a fantastic accommodation. We plan to at least return annually."

  • Amazing Place

"Grandma's Spectacular Beach Cottage is a name well suited name for this home. Although the description and photo's of the Cottage were very representative on the website, our family was in awe of the beauty of this place! The views of the Pacific Ocean from the Cottage were spectacular! The Cottage had everything we needed, was very comfortable, and was clean and well maintained. The bedrooms were very cozy, and comfortable, and the sounds of the crashing waves were amazing upon going to sleep and waking up. We spent much time on the private beach, which is very close, just a few minute walk down from the Cottage. The wood burning stove was also a nice touch, and we spent every night huddled around the stove. We also spent time sea kayaking, touring nearby beaches and light houses, and dining in nearby towns. We saw a sea otter, seals, and other wildlife while walking on the beach, and the tide pools at low tide were also amazing to look at. We also found sand dollars along a stretch of the beach. There is a Laundromat in the nearby town of Anchor Bay. The owner was very helpful in answering all of our questions, and keeping us updated as we planned our trip. We would highly recommend the Cottage, and plan on returning to this amazing place!"

  • Great kitchen, welcoming home... privacy among the redwoods

"We rented the home last week... a group of old college buddies and a couple of spouses. As discussed by others, the home is COMPLETELY stocked with everything you'll need. Need an air mattress? No problem!.... look in one of the garage cabinets, and you'll find several. And is was sparkling clean upon arrival. If you read the description, you'll see that, while the house sleeps 10, there are only four beds. Add the sofa sleeper, which is only suitable for small children... VERY uncomfortable. So, while the home is an ideal get-away, it's best for a large family or a group of couples. Not as good for a group of more than four friends/acquaintances, but the full bath in the garage provides for substantial flexibility. The grill provides direct flame exposure only, but is sufficient to simultaneously prepare meat and veggies for eight (thanks, John!). One comment.... the home is warm and welcoming, in a neighborhood/community that features "keep out", "no trespassing", and "beware of dog" notices. I'm not certain that this is the best destination for families with small children. But it was nearly perfect for our small reunion."
