  • wonderful house

"We spend a relaxing long weekend at the house. Very convenient, clean, well-stocked, and you can hear and see the ocean from the property. Great deck. The owner is very responsive."

  • Good stay for the money

"We enjoyed our 10 day stay in this redwoods cabin. It was a great venue from which to access the southern Oregon coastal towns and the beautiful parks and scenic drives in northern California. The hosts are very nice and good sources of local knowledge, and they are very responsive by email. They do live right next door to the cottage/garage combination, but they are unobtrusive.
The cottage is generally well-supplied, but I felt like some details were missed, i.e., very little hand soap, only 1 dish towel, etc. The items mentioned in a previous review - slats missing from the window shade and mildew on the bathroom ceiling - had not been corrected. The oven, microwave, top of the refrigerator and some pans were dirty. There were mouse traps in 2 of the empty cabinets - apparently not used, but not welcoming either. There is a washer and dryer to use, but there is no clean surface to put clothes as you remove them from the dryer. Despite these issues though, the cabin is a good deal for the money if these "details" don’t deter you."

  • Excellent Choice

"I had another house reserved for this weekend that was double booked. The owner of this house came through at the last minute to help us out. I'm really glad the other place was over booked. The house was very clean, very updated, and in a great location. We could see the ocean, it was about 400 yards away looking out over the meadow, but you could see it. The house is a nice size, set up well, and well stocked. We sat on the deck with a glass of wine and some snacks, checked out the birds and the deer. The only change I would make is too lower the temp on the hot tub. If you are going to use it, make sure you take the cover off for a couple of hours, get the temp down from 105 to 101. The gas fireplace and xm stereo came in really handy. We were within blocks of the pool, the golf course, and the hiking trails along the water. Check this house out, you won't be disappointed. Any be sure and use the ping pong table and dart board."
