  • Comfortable, Peaceful, and So Relaxing!!!

"We LOVED this house!! Everything about it says, “Welcome. Make yourself at home.” In fact, I think the pictures and the website actually undersell it a bit. We are a family of 10 including five children ages 8 and under. They spent a lot of time outside (yes, by choice) playing in the enclosed yard/play area, which is one of the features that was better than the posted picture led us to anticipate. We loved the way the living room was laid out because everyone could choose their view; after all, not everyone goes to the ocean to watch television. :) All of the living room seating was quite comfortable and all the throws that covered them were quilts, which added a level of coziness that also exceeded our expectations. In fact, many of the bedcovers are also quilts. The house is stocked with plenty of comfortable bedding, so there’s really no need to bring extra. One of the other pleasant surprises was the “sleeping porch.” It’s basically another room where the only single adult of the bunch slept (yes, also by choice). It has a twin-size day bed that was quite comfortable. The best thing about it was being able to open the window at the head of the bed and fall asleep to the sound and smell of the ocean. The kitchen is well stocked with all the cookware and dishes a family should need. I read a review that focused on the small kitchen, and it is small, but it has everything we needed, including a full sized refrigerator. And there may not be a lot of unused cupboard space either, but there were 10 of us and it posed no problem at all. We brought a big ice chest for drinks and kept it on the covered porch right outside the kitchen door. And there’s room in the laundry area just off the kitchen where we kept a big shopping bag or two with our pantry type items. In addition, there ARE two grocery stores literally down the street, so it’s not like one really has to bring everything they may possibly want to consume during their stay. Based on our very pleasant experience, we feel that giving this home a 2-star rating was just mean. We’re so looking forward to our next stay."

  • Comfortable, convenient and dog friendly!

"This home really met our family's needs - a bedroom on the first floor for my mother and a dog-friendly home for us. The location is close to many wonderful places - Mendocino, Elk, Fort Bragg - where we could walk our dogs and enjoy the ocean. Everyone commented how comfortable their beds were, and we (on the second floor) appreciated the large bathroom! Thank you for opening your home to us."

  • Great Family Retreat

"Our family of five was really happy here for 2 nights. The outdoor swing and fire-pit were a great addition to help entertain the kids. Quiet, private location perfect for a break from our city-life. LOVED having a washer and dryer available for use. Managers were very helpful with a couple of questions we had. Also loved finding a home that does not allow pets, as we all have pet allergies. A non-smoking home was also a big plus."

  • Wishing we could stay forever!

"Cannot possibly do this home justice in a few words! Clean, comfortable, quiet, roomy, reasonable. If I could buy this house, and move here closer to my grand kids (oh yeah, kids too), I certainly would! Have visited Crescent City many times, this trip was awesome, in part because of this rental, and working with Mary. Would not hesitate to do business with Mary again! Did I mention: clean AND reasonable? Two of my favorite adjectives. Wow! Great experience.!"
