"We loved Trinidad and the retro cottage! Fabulous retro furnishings! Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, good shower, great fireplace! Perfect location, even with the road construction. We could walk to everything! My only input is that the coffee maker is way too small for a house that can sleep 8. Fortunately, the Beachcomber Cafe opens early and has great coffee! Bring your coffee travel mug, as they don't have paper cups. We would definitely stay at the Retro Retreat again. A dark colored towel to wipe the dogs feet before coming in the house would be a great item to add to the house. Thanks!"Guest: Doug and Suzanne Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: September 15, 2014View listing
"Our family feels very blessed to have had the opportunity to stay in this cozy home. We were greeted at the door by Ruthann and John, and both of them created an environment in which my husband and I and our two children felt very welcomed and at home. Though some might be hesitant to stay at a place so close to the owners, we found it charming and actually felt a bit like we were staying with family. John and Ruthann provide great tips for sight-seeing, great food (ohmygosh, GREAT food), and are so hospitable. The kids LOVED the fresh-picked peaches and watching the juice drip down their arms was something to smile at! :) Our room had roses from the garden and John shared with us that we were welcome to the books, brought out a pool for our son (which we ended up not using because the river was warm and perfect for playing in!), and encouraged us to use their canoe if we were interested. They also offered to share spices and food items that we might need, rather than purchasing it from the store. Beside the amazing hospitality shown to us, the area is RICH with activity! We were a short drive to the Trees of Mystery, Jedediah Smith State/Nat'l Park, the Pacific Ocean, and of course, their amazing river access. We never ran out of things to do. We spent countless hours just at the river! I enjoyed runs on the beach (that were virtually private) as well as a beautiful run through Jedediah Smith. When we asked our children what their favorite parts of our vacation were, they both mentioned the river. It really is spectacular. Thankful beyond words for our great stay here. Enjoy!!!!!"Guest: Veronica Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 4, 2014View listing
"Casa Canon was the perfect mountainside retreat along the rugged Mendocino coast...nestled in the woods, yet with a great ocean view, including lighthouse. Accommodations were excellent for two couples, the baths superior, and the kitchen well equipped. We would return in a heartbeat."Guest: Cheryl W.
