"Me and my fiancee rented this cottage with our parents to enjoy a nice time together before getting married. It was the perfect fit. Wire cottage definitely has beautiful simplistic rustic charm and is spacious. Located in a slightly secluded property (because of trees surrounding property) in a quiet neighborhood, this is ideal for privacy and relaxation. The cottage is very close to the beach, five minute walk or less. Also, there is a supermarket just down the street. Laguna is a great place to stay if you are interested in art. There are numerous galleries along the streets and in downtown. It is about a 2-5 min drive downtown, and maybe around 20 minutes to walk depending on speed. There are a lot of nice beaches to go to in the surrounding area. Laguna has a nice relaxed vibe but is also vibrant and busy on weekends. The cottage itself: the kitchen was well equipped and even had extra seasoning available to use. The deck is awesome----> good weather, nice views, and a bbq:) The shower was great. Hot water worked well. No problems with any amenities and had everything you probably will need. There was a wi-fi code. The lock box for the keys was easy and convenient. We really did not need to contact the property manager or owner during the stay. If you like privacy and a low-key place that is like your own for a fair price then this is def. the place to come. Also as a plus, it was cool to see the before photos on the wall of when the cottage was the only building built on the surrounding land. Also, nice to see the original owner's photos on the wall. They even have an unpublished manuscript copy of one of Mr. Wire's works. I love books and was happy this was a originally a writer's cottage so this was an added charm for me. My entire family enjoyed their stay. We would definitely stay again if given the opportunity and would recommend it as a place to stay to our family and friends."

"My husband and I stayed for two months and enjoyed every moment. The home is cozy and beautifully decorated. The furnishings are comfortable, especially the sofas and the beds that are filled with silky smooth linens and fluffy pillows - they even provide robes! The kitchen was fully-stocked with every appliance, utensil, and even spices that I could imagine - I loved the Wolfe stove. We enjoyed cooking but also ventured out to the variety of local restaurants as well as many more a few miles away at Dana Point Harbor. We walked or biked almost every day. There are so many trails and wonderful views. The backyard is private and also filled with comfortable seating and a large hammock. I have never heard so many birds singing in the morning in my life. It’s a wonderful way to wake up. The neighborhood is gated and very safe, quiet with very friendly people. We are definitely returning next year to our new home away from home."

"We love Balboa Island, especially the Grand Canal. We have stayed in many houses on the Grand Canal over the years, but this was our favorite. The kitchen and bathrooms are remodeled and beautiful and the living area is spacious and bright. John and Sue were very prompt when answering questions, and the on-site caretaker, Tom, was also a big help. We started our stand up paddling in the canal every day and took long walks several times a day. We never needed to get in our car. A perfect getaway!"
