"This condo unit was perfect for our family of four for a week in Orange County. It was a short ride to Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm and the beach was spectacular all week. Strands beach is perfect for those who like to lay out, swim, body surf, boogie board, or surf and it's a short walk from the unit. The waves were great, the beach was clean, and the sunsets were beautiful.
The condo accommodations are perfect for a couple or small family. The pull out bed is ample for two and the CA King in the bedroom was comfortable. Dannelle was very accommodating and helpful in making sure everything met our needs. The kitchen was nicely set up with everything you need to cook at home. We also went out to some of the great establishments in nearby Dana Point and had great food all week. We went swimming at the beach and pool almost every day and we literally fell in love with the place. Having beach towels, beach chairs, and boogie boards available was a nice touch to make the place full service for enjoying the beach.
I highly recommend this Condo unit as a great place for a small family or a couple. We didn't want to leave!
P.S. The one and only negative review below doesn't make any sense. A small sampling of the other reviews will quickly tell you that."

"This was our first all family Trip to California. While we were in California 10 days we only got to spend 4 days in Dana Point. We all hated to leave Villa Tortuga!
The condo was absolutely beautiful and it was in the perfect location. We couldn't believe all of the ammenities- top notch, and Gus has thought of everything! (I really mean EVERYTHING! I expected things like beach towels and some equipment; but first aid kit, binoculars, pantry items? WOW!)
We had breakfast on the airy deck and dinner in the spacious dining area. WiFi worked well and there were plenty of DVDs as well as books and magazines. Gus has all the information you need printed up and well organized. The beach is wonderful and just a short walk (or taxi ride) to the Ritz Carlton, where we attended a wedding.
The location is also very close to the harbor and the Ocean Institute. We got to see some of the tall ships while we attended a reception there.
Maybe I shouldn't say so many good things about this condo-- it might not be available next time we want to stay in Dana Point.
Exceptional place, Gus. You really have a winner in Villa Tortuga."

"This property fit our needs perfectly. Location, location, location. From this condo we walked to the harbor on a daily basis. (The Science Center at the far end of the harbor is a must.) Each evening we watched the sun set over the harbor from two of many overlooks, both within a block from the condo. The opportunity to surf, run or walk along Strands and Salt Creek beaches is more than handy . Many morning runs took us through the sandy path of the protected area to Strands and then on to Salt Creek beaches. Restaurants in the area are abundant. Take your pick. We were lucky enough to be there during the Dana Point Grand Prix bike race. Great event. Again, we needed no car. If you choose to drive to find adventure, the choices are abundant. Far too many to mention. The "things to do and see" portion of the booklet in the condo gave us many ideas. This is definitely a 5 star choice for a home away from home."

"I have to say we had the best time here this beach house is truly a little slice of paradise! It's located beachfront directly on the water. My family of 4 with 2 small children stayed here for our summer vacation. I can't say enough good things! The house was large and beautiful and we had plenty of room it was clean and well taken care of by the owner you could tell she took pride in her rental home. Accommodations where great comfy beds and linens and plenty of towels where provided. We felt like we where almost on a boat with amazing views of the ocean from the downstairs and master bedroom, we really enjoyed the large deck and spent most our time out there watching the water and listening to the crash of the waves. The kids had so much fun playing in the sand and water it was great cause your so close to the water I felt comfortable watching them play from the deck without having to sit in the sand the whole day with them. We saw pods of dolphins and Pelicans dive for fish. It was such a cool experience. The owner Mary is fantastic she was so accommodating and very sweet with our special requests, I loved that she even left a dozen fresh roses on the table when we arrived they bloomed throughout our stay and when it was time for us to leave they where done as well. It was a really nice simple detail that we enjoyed! We will definently be back and refer our friends and family!!!"
