  • Great location. Enjoyable place to stay.

"My family rented this home for three weeks and really enjoyed our stay. You are just two blocks to the beach and three blocks to downtown. The home has four bedrooms, effectively two master bedrooms, a nice family room, dining room, and kitchen. It also has a laundry room in the home, which was very handy. The beauty of this home is the location. It really allows you to enjoy all the the beach and downtown have to offer."

  • Great place for beach and SoCal, well-stocked, clean

"We stayed for half a month and it was a very pleasant stay. We're a family of four (with 2 kids, aged 6 and 3). We were using the house a base to visit family, friends, and sites in southern California. The place had everything we look for in a rental home. It was clean, tidy, and child-safe. For trips to the beach, there were plenty of towels, boogie boards, and sand toys, and even a big red wagon to transport them all in. We liked the area -- there are plenty of food options, and it's only two miles away from a Trader Joe's grocery store. There are a couple of parks with playgrounds within walking distance. And the Tuesday night 'Surf City Nights' on Main Street with food vendors, entertainment, and games for kids was really cool. We've stayed at VRBOs before and this was among the best. The owners had a little notebook that described where things were in the house and what was in the area. The house came well stocked (if you've stayed in VRBO's before you know this often is not the case): there was handsoap, dish detergent, shower supplies, things for kids to play with like crayons and games. There were kitchen staple items beyond just dishes, like bakeware, sugar, plastic bags, aluminum foil, and plastic containers for leftovers. Both bedrooms had ceiling fans. There was lots of space in the closets, lots of extra pillows, blankets and sheets. We drove around SoCal extensively, and it was nice to have a garage to come home to when there wasn't any nearby street parking available. The owners were responsive: we saw that there were wasps in the umbrella in the backyard, but the owners took care of it right away. Couple of cons: For those with small children or limited mobility, you should know that the living room in the 'back' of the house (three rooms in) is two steps down. Also, all the pots and pans were teflon and some were scratched. If people have a preference to not cook with teflon, you don't have a choice. But the pros far outweigh the cons. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and relatives."

  • Perfect family vacation spot

"My family was very impressed with the home and offered more space than expected. We also enjoyed sitting out in the enclosed front patio. We felt the location was close enough to the beach and very convenient without feeling overcrowded or noisy. Overall, this was a quality property at a good value. The owner was great to work with as well."

  • From the Midwest

"This house is awesome. The description matches what you get. We had 7 adults and 3 children. There was plenty of room for everyone. The pool is just like the picture large enough to enjoy, all adults form 66 to 30 all went down the slide. It was the perfect playground for the kids. the owners do everything that they can to make your stay what perfect. From fresh California fruit to recommendations for places to each and enjoy and gift baskets with everything that you might have forgotten, they thought of everything. You cannot go wrong renting this house from the owners. We had a perfect stay in California, and the house was a key part of our trip."
