The PERFECT home!
"There are just so many wonderful things to share about this property, I don't know where to start. Let's begin with the owner. She was so responsive to my many pre-visit questions & kind enough to allow me to preview her home while I was on another trip to CA. This home is amazing! From the moment you enter the courtyard, you'll be hooked & it only gets better once you step inside. The home is quite large, especially for 2 people. I LOVED that there were 3 different doors that opened on to your quiet, beautiful & private patio. The closets are huge, the washer/dryer a real plus, the bedroom had such a comfortable bed & plenty of drawer space. The master bath so quaint with breathtaking Spanish tile throughout, even in the sink! Lots of towels & a cute counter just outside the small step in shower stall. The living room was so beautifully decorated. You could just get swallowed up by the comfy couch. A table & chairs for 4 was at one end of the living room & at the other end was a high top table & more chairs. Side chairs & a lounger sat near the fireplace. The very large flat screen TV, although not HDMI equipped was great. There was a 2nd bathroom at the far end of the living room which rarely was used but so nice to have. ALL of the decor in this home is wonderful & so rich looking. Be sure to read the saying on the plaque in the 2nd bathroom. The kitchen had everything including a HUGE pantry filled to the brim with spices, oils & other items. The frig had a water purifier, which was so nice. My absolute favorite thing of all was the Dutch door from the kitchen to the small walkway you took to the garage where the washer/dryer was or the other direction for the trash containers. I love stained glass & her home is accented by it perfectly. Parking can be very tight on Balboa Island but fortunately, we were able to park in the same space every day, largely because of our owner. This darling home is located only 1 block off the main st on the island so you can step around the corner to Starbucks if you like or try Wilma's Patio for breakfast. Shops & more restaurants line both sides of the main street. Traffic can back up a little using the only street that leads in/out of the island but it is SO worth it. You can walk everywhere! Several mornings I walked around the entire island including the island extension. Homes are beautiful & everyone is so friendly. Grocery is close, Javier's-yum,Chang's @ Fashion Island! Owner always there if needed!"

"I don't think we will ever rent another house! We rented the upstairs & downstairs! It accommodated our family so perfectly! There was so much room in the bedrooms, kitchen & living room! It was wonderful having all of the dressers available so we weren't living out of our suitcases for the week! The patio downstairs & side patio were perfect! Loved having the garage as well! Already booking next year & we practically just left! Perfect central location to anywhere we wanted to go! And right down from the swim beach! Which is where we spend most of our time. Looking forward to next year!"

"Our stay at this water front home was perfect for my husband and I. We loved being on the canal and close to the bridge to walk over to all the restaurants and shops. We spent most of our afternoons sitting on the very large patio with a glass of wine watching the sun going down. We really enjoyed using the kayaks right off the dock. We used the bikes and took the ferry over to the ocean board walk and biked for miles. This beach home is equipped with everything you would need for a vacation, including a washer and dryer and garage. I loved the decor showing what Balboa Island was like in the 20's. We have been coming to Balboa Island for many years, as we used to live in the Newport Beach area. Renting on Balboa Island is one of our favorite vacations, and this was the best home we have rented on the Island!"

"This was the second year we rented this beach house. It's a beautiful home with lots of sunlight. Everything you need in a great location. It's just two blocks from the ferry. It's far from Marine, the main street, but it's a beautiful walk to get there and you don't have to deal with the crowds and parking."
