A MUST STAY home
"Sorry for the delay in writing this review. We stayed during my boys spring break. You are so close to the Wedge (1 block). Loved that this home is in a quiet neighborhood. Closer to the pier it can get really congested and noisy. I would recommend getting a golf cart for your stay. Easy to park in the garage and great for running up to the store. Loved sitting out on the very private patio with the fire pit. We will definitely be back!"

"This house was the perfect place to rest and relax in-between our days at Disneyland. The two separate sleeping quarters were great for us, our daughter, son-in-law, and 2 year old grand daughter. The beach was close but away from the traffic of the boardwalk. The park across the street was fenced in and amazing! The grocery store was just around the corner and had everything we needed! Disney was about a 30 minute drive away so we weren't stuck in the middle of the hustle and bustle and all that goes with Disney. The house was clean, the fenced in yard was perfect, the grill was clean, and there were plenty of beach towels, chairs, and an umbrella. I was glad that we had brought our own beach toys - that, along with maybe a bicycle or two, might be the only thing I found lacking!! Tons of wonderful restaurants near by. Parking was a bit of a crunch, but certainly not a deterrent to another visit in the future."

"There are just so many wonderful things to share about this property, I don't know where to start. Let's begin with the owner. She was so responsive to my many pre-visit questions & kind enough to allow me to preview her home while I was on another trip to CA. This home is amazing! From the moment you enter the courtyard, you'll be hooked & it only gets better once you step inside. The home is quite large, especially for 2 people. I LOVED that there were 3 different doors that opened on to your quiet, beautiful & private patio. The closets are huge, the washer/dryer a real plus, the bedroom had such a comfortable bed & plenty of drawer space. The master bath so quaint with breathtaking Spanish tile throughout, even in the sink! Lots of towels & a cute counter just outside the small step in shower stall. The living room was so beautifully decorated. You could just get swallowed up by the comfy couch. A table & chairs for 4 was at one end of the living room & at the other end was a high top table & more chairs. Side chairs & a lounger sat near the fireplace. The very large flat screen TV, although not HDMI equipped was great. There was a 2nd bathroom at the far end of the living room which rarely was used but so nice to have. ALL of the decor in this home is wonderful & so rich looking. Be sure to read the saying on the plaque in the 2nd bathroom. The kitchen had everything including a HUGE pantry filled to the brim with spices, oils & other items. The frig had a water purifier, which was so nice. My absolute favorite thing of all was the Dutch door from the kitchen to the small walkway you took to the garage where the washer/dryer was or the other direction for the trash containers. I love stained glass & her home is accented by it perfectly. Parking can be very tight on Balboa Island but fortunately, we were able to park in the same space every day, largely because of our owner. This darling home is located only 1 block off the main st on the island so you can step around the corner to Starbucks if you like or try Wilma's Patio for breakfast. Shops & more restaurants line both sides of the main street. Traffic can back up a little using the only street that leads in/out of the island but it is SO worth it. You can walk everywhere! Several mornings I walked around the entire island including the island extension. Homes are beautiful & everyone is so friendly. Grocery is close, Javier's-yum,Chang's @ Fashion Island! Owner always there if needed!"

"My wife and I just got home from our first stay at Matt's Newport Beach apartment. We celebrated our 39th anniversary, and what a great place to stay. We have already booked two more 1 week vacations in September & November. And plan on booking more. This upper apartment is quiet, clean, close to the sand and in walking or biking to many great restaurants, shops and other activities in the Newport Beach / Balboa area. The apartment is spacious & clean. Located 1 house off the boardwalk between Newport & Balboa piers. Beautiful view of the bay from the front patio. You can see a sliver of the beach and ocean from the back bedroom window. Plan on staying many many more times. Matt was just a call away if we needed anything.
