"Before arriving, there was constant communication and all questions/concerns were answered. Once we arrived, we were given the tour of the house (even though we came in early...VERY welcoming and friendly!) The house was beautiful and perfect for the amount of people we had. Just a minute from beach, so we were in heaven and just a drive to get to where we wanted (went fishing at Newport Landing, fished at pier, surfed) Overall, we had an excellent experience, the kids had a blast and we WILL be back next year! With it being July 4th, it was hectic and we were told that, but after the area was quiet. Enjoyed our visit, already planning for next year!"

"This is my dream house. Perfect in every way. Terri was amazing and helpful and kind.
It really has everything you need...and more. Had a blast on the kayaks. Rode the bikes
to coffee in the morning and the jetty in the afternoon, but there's really no reason
to leave this house. Thank you again for sharing your home with us. Very gratefully, Patrick"

"Our family of 6 adults and 2 children recently stayed in this home. There was plenty of room for everyone, and the fact that all of us had our own bathroom was so convenient! We loved the bikes, rode them every day along the boardwalk. We went to the beach every morning, and having boogie boards and sand toys for the kids was such a bonus! The home is beautiful, and in a great location, you can walk or ride bikes to so many great places! We ate at the Newport Brewery, excellent food! We did a Duffy boat ride in the harbor, then had a really nice dinner at the Rusty Pelican and it was amazing! Russ is the best to work with, it was the best rental experience I have ever had, and I have rented from VRBO many times! I would work with Russ again in a heartbeat, and would love to return to Newport! The rooftop deck is the best, we spent every evening up there, and spent some great quality time with our adult kids on the deck. Just a great experience from start to finish!"

"Pros: Location, price, clean, quiet, well appointed, great owner/manager
Cons: Not fancy or ritzy, no A/C
The best thing about this property by far, is the location. This apartment is so conveniently located. I had a choice between this one and another one that was better furnished, but 2 blocks further away from the beach. I am so glad I chose this one. Balboa Blvd is a busy street, and crossing it would have been a hassle. This house is on the beach side of Balboa, so no need to cross and we could even let our kids go back to the house alone. Other properties that are this close to the beach were also more expensive. So, if you want to stay in this price point and be close to the beach, this is the most affordable choice.
It is convenient enough that if you even need to use the bathroom while you're at the beach, you can just walk home. Before the trip, one of my concerns was the sofa beds (we have 3 children.) Matt provides extra bedding, and we just put an extra comforter/blanket on top of the mattresses, which made them comfy. The master bed was extremely comfortable. The house has 3 fans, which we used to cool down the house while we were out. We were in Newport when the temperatures were in the high 70's. I'm not sure how it would be in the house when it's super hot outside. Also, the apartment is exactly like what you see in the photos.
We rented bikes at the 20th St Beach and Bikes - it had better prices than the 15th street rental place. We rode bikes to Balboa Island and ate lunch there one day (Amelia's Italian - very cozy, not crowded like some other restaurants on Marine Ave.)
We would stay here again, for sure."
