  • Love San Clemente and Casa Miramar!

"We’ve stayed in many beautiful homes and condos over the years but Casa Mira Mar is now hands down our favorite vacation rental. San Clemente is a charming little beach town and just perfect for enjoying some much needed mid-winter downtime (and sunshine!). Its location was ideal for making day trips to friends and family in Los Angeles and San Diego (not to mention several amusement parks in the surrounding areas). The home itself is a lovely showcase of Spanish Colonial architecture and everything we needed was within walking distance of the house (beaches, restaurants, shops, etc.). There’s a sweet municipal golf course with breathtaking ocean and canyon view about ten minutes away and one our favorite Mexican restaurants ANYWHERE is right around the corner. But it’s really also the little things, the often-overlooked amenities, that put Casa Miramar ahead of other typical vacation rentals in my opinion. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the requisite equipment and a large collection of spices with which to cook, and there are plenty of place settings for hosting cocktail hour and dinner parties. There’s an array of different size pillows so every guest can choose the size/firmness that fits their tastes and each room has reading lamps on BOTH sides of the bed (which we book lovers certainly do appreciate!). There are lots of hangers in every closet so you don’t have to skimp on your vacation wardrobe, and hooks on the back of the doors help ensure that clothes and wet towels stay in their proper place. It may seem like small stuff but when I’m away from my own home these little things afford a sense of comfort that can be difficult to attain while on vacation. San Clemente and Casa Mira Mar surpassed our expectations and will certainly become a repeat vacation destination spot for our family."

  • Everything you want in a beach house

"This was our second time staying in Kristine's home in San Clemente, and I highly recommend it! The house is large enough for our family of growing teenagers (4 of them) to spread out and yet it lends itself to family togetherness with the pool table, ping pong table, back yard area for outdoor meals and jacuzzi for the few days the kids were chilled after a sunset swim. The back yard area is wonderful for grilling every night and eating meals outdoors in the perfect San Clemente weather. We have a cajun grill and like to use lump wood charcoal for our bbq's at home, but we have to say we love the gas grill at this house for feeding the hungry family quickly! The older I get, the pickier I am about beds and these beds are comfortable. There are ample pillows, and all rooms have a fan, which is all you need at night. The best thing about this home: you can walk to the T Street beach access. This frees up the older kids to explore on their own. For us, for example: my daughter runs, so it was perfect for her to be able to walk down and run on the beach; I wake up early, so I get to have my early morning walks on the beach; my husband and sons walked to the pier several times to do some night fishing and caught some mackerel; we had a night bonfire on the beach at T-street; and, my youngest daughter and I walked to the pier to have some lunch while the others used the rental car to explore the area. (The walk is a steep hill, so for those that have knee/hip problems like my Mom, you'd probably need to drive down and park near the beach.) Lastly, as mentioned in other reviews, you have all of the beach equipment that you could possibly need: numerous beach chairs, coolers, umbrellas, towels, and, for kids, there are very good boogie boards (not the cheap ones) and even a surf board. For those of us that fly into CA, this is a huge bonus! The owner is a pleasure to work with, so I can't imagine what else you'd need for a perfect beach vacation!"

  • Completely Charming

"We have been coming to San Clemente for several summers now and we always stay in a different place, some closer to restaurants and shopping (like this one) and some a little closer to the beach. I am always drawn to anything with a little charm and I have to say this is my favorite by far. It doesn't feel like a standard rental house, it feels like a really wonderful home. It's more spacious than I would have thought from the pictures. The kitchen is really well stocked, the place is gorgeously decorated and extremely clean. We spent every morning having coffee in the front yard and enjoying the hummingbirds. We managed to use the hot tub one night which was very relaxing. (I had never seen a two person hot tub before but it worked great for us) My favorite room was the den, since both my husband and I had to work a bit while we were there it was nice to do it with a pretty view. We didn't have a pet with us but if you are traveling with one it was very pet friendly. I would definitely stay here again, you can't beat the value. My only recommendations would be: a wand lighter in the kitchen (I don't know how those 1930's housewives lived without one) and more beach supplies (chairs, towels, etc.)"

  • Can't wait to return next Spring Break!

"AMAZING views.....great location and nicely appointed condo with all the comforts of home. Our family of four had the best Spring Break vacation and look forward to returning again next year. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Linda, the owner who is warm, kind and helpful. She welcomed our 2 children with Sand Pail Buckets filled with Easter Candy and just purchased some new children's game for them to enjoy during their stay. It was so refreshing to have bottled water in the refrigerator, coffee, tea, salt, pepper, plenty of toilet paper and many other essentials available. The condo's beach theme is charming, clean, bright and comfortable. The view from the large balcony is absolutely amazing and the location couldn't be any better. This is a 5 star plus plus plus!"
