  • Great place for beach and SoCal, well-stocked, clean

"We stayed for half a month and it was a very pleasant stay. We're a family of four (with 2 kids, aged 6 and 3). We were using the house a base to visit family, friends, and sites in southern California. The place had everything we look for in a rental home. It was clean, tidy, and child-safe. For trips to the beach, there were plenty of towels, boogie boards, and sand toys, and even a big red wagon to transport them all in. We liked the area -- there are plenty of food options, and it's only two miles away from a Trader Joe's grocery store. There are a couple of parks with playgrounds within walking distance. And the Tuesday night 'Surf City Nights' on Main Street with food vendors, entertainment, and games for kids was really cool. We've stayed at VRBOs before and this was among the best. The owners had a little notebook that described where things were in the house and what was in the area. The house came well stocked (if you've stayed in VRBO's before you know this often is not the case): there was handsoap, dish detergent, shower supplies, things for kids to play with like crayons and games. There were kitchen staple items beyond just dishes, like bakeware, sugar, plastic bags, aluminum foil, and plastic containers for leftovers. Both bedrooms had ceiling fans. There was lots of space in the closets, lots of extra pillows, blankets and sheets. We drove around SoCal extensively, and it was nice to have a garage to come home to when there wasn't any nearby street parking available. The owners were responsive: we saw that there were wasps in the umbrella in the backyard, but the owners took care of it right away. Couple of cons: For those with small children or limited mobility, you should know that the living room in the 'back' of the house (three rooms in) is two steps down. Also, all the pots and pans were teflon and some were scratched. If people have a preference to not cook with teflon, you don't have a choice. But the pros far outweigh the cons. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and relatives."

  • Great Place To Stay For The Week Or Six Months

"It doesn't get better then this. Two friends and I stayed at another unit on this this property about a year ago for an extended surf weekend. I liked the property so much that I came back and stayed in this downstairs canyon unit for six months. The private patio sits atop Trafalgar (T-Street) canyon and is just incredibly scenic and serene, watching wild parrots feed on the trees right in front of the patio! The location is close to everything and walking distance to downtown, pier, beach, shops and restaurants ...you don't need a car! Over the six months I stayed here, I met many great people and families staying in the other units and had some great BBQ's. The owners are super nice and bend over backwards to make sure their guest are well accommodated. I would highly recommend this canyon casita for individuals or families looking to have a great time!"

  • One of the Greatest Vacation Homes!

"We very much enjoyed our stay at this beautiful beach rental! My family and friends loved the location and the home had everything we needed! My husband and I choose this place as our baby's first trip and the home was perfect for her: there was a high chair and a pack and play! We would love to make this home a semi regular location spot! We also stopped by the local farmer's marker on Saturday and it was a lot of fun! Thank you for sharing your home!!!"

Of course, no one comes to Orange County without heading to Anaheim area to visit the Magic Kingdom, Disneyland, the iconic original home to the world-famous mouse and friends. Long before Captain Jack Sparrow, local residents and visitors knew the dangers that lurked for unsuspecting riders on the Pirates of the Caribbean!

Buena Park is home to America’s first theme park and the one that Californians call home, Knott’s Berry Farm. The park has a fascinating history, dating back to the 1920s as a farm and the country’s first "Chicken Dinner" restaurant which is still serving its famous dishes today.

Visitors here will find America’s biggest shopping center at South Coast Plaza, with attracts over 24 million visitors each year. Only slightly smaller is Brea Mall. You could also take advantage of the weather at Fashion island, an outdoor shopping experience with over 200 stores, featuring a Venetian carousel. If you find you are missing Mickey, head to Downtown Disney District where you will find more than just the House of Mouse; you will also find great nightlife. To mix entertainment and shopping, a great day out is the Block at Orange, with shops and plenty of entertainment, including themed restaurants and a skate park. Then, there is the Village at Orange; it is huge too! If you still need more shopping, the Irvine Spectrum Center has that and more. Here you will find a giant Ferris wheel, a carousel and one of the largest movie theaters in the country.

The Great Outdoors, Southern California Style

It would be a shame to leave without having taken in the scenery along Pacific Coast Highway, California’s Route 1. For a desert day, take Route 74 for unforgettable views of snow-covered mountains and the dry desert.
