  • Everything is great!

"We took our parents here for a short vacation. We really had a great time staying in this condo. Great location, great property, everything is great. We hop we'd have more time to stay here. Thanks David for letting us check in early!"

  • perfect beach/village home base!

"My husband & I took my 20 year old brother on vacation & this cottage was the perfect home base. We could walk to cafes, shop for souvenirs & stroll the beach front all within 5 minutes of this cottage. Mike says he was making renovations after our visit but honestly, I can't imagine what he needed to upgrade, it was really wonderful. The kitchen had EVERY appointment you could need or want. He also has plenty of beach accessories available to you including: beach wagon (VERY HANDY), beach chairs, towels, toys, football, etc. We had to call Mike at 11pm one night with a question & he was so accommodating & helpful. He is always available & had great input on restaurants. On our next trip, we know where we will be staying!!"

  • Close to Everything

"This little place was perfect for us. We were so close to the beach, walking distance to several great cafes, restauranuts, 7-eleven, etc. The little yard was great for my kids, the owner kept a wagon for the beach, stocked with everything you need. We were very close to the train, which is convienient for taking into downtown San Diego (the train noise didnt bother me at all, but woke my husband). All together great place. The owner was very nice and was available when ever you needed him."

  • Cozy, comfortable & cute home base for SoCal vacation

"My husband, son & I just left "The Hideaway" & were sad to say goodbye! Our favorite part was the patio area. Karen knew we were arriving after dark & left the lights of the cottage on for us. Walking down the path to the cutest outdoor living area with the soft lighting was just the best way to end a day of traveling. There was coffee & even snacks waiting for us--the owners have thought of everything! The umbrella & beach chairs that were available for our use were practically brand new. We just kept them in our trunk so we were always ready for the beach. As others have said, you are within walking distance to shopping, Fiesta Liquor store, restaurants & the beach (great walk to see the sunset but probably a bit far to carry all the gear for the day on the beach). The Coaster station was a short walk & is a GREAT way to get downtown to see the USS Midway. We rented a car but loved the convenience of taking the train. If you like BBQ, we did takeout from That Boy Good in nearby Oceanside & it was very yummy. The shared laundry room has everything you need. It's in front of the patio area so if the renters in the main house are doing laundry while you are outside, you will see & hear them just to give you a head's up. The hideaway bed in the leather couch was like most--fine for kids but maybe not the most comfortable for 2 adults. Plenty of extra bedding for the hideaway bed. Overall, we love Carlsbad & we would absolutely stay at this property again. Thank you, Karen & Jeff! :)"
