"We spent 4 days in this unit name had a lovely, very relaxing time. It's an older style building but well maintained and very clean. We especially like the large windows in the living room and the private patio. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, plenty of seats plus 2 lounge chairs on the patio, and the bed was comfortable with nice linens. The owner, Michael, was very nice and reservation and check-in were easy.
The location was perfect for us. As far as the train: yes, the unit is about 2 lots away from a commuter train track, you do hear the train throughout the day. It didn't bother us most of the time and we were able to sleep through the nights just fine, but if you desire absolute quiet you might consider the train factor. Otherwise, the unit is 2 blocks to the village, 2 blocks to the beach, and there are a handful of restaurants plus a 7-11 within a block away. The only time we had to use our car was a trip to the grocery store to stock up on our first day. We walked and explored, then came back to our cozy little patio. We enjoyed the unit very much and had a fantastic vacation. Will definitely come back and definitely recommend!"

"We rented this cottage because of it's proximity to the beach. Couldn't have asked for a better location in that regard! AND there were beach toys and a wagon! EXACTLY what we needed!
The cottage was clean, which is what everyone wants when they're traveling too. The 2 bedrooms are super small though, and once you open a suitcase, you are climbing on top of each other. There is no air circulation in there so windows must remain open. Then the street noise from the bar across the street and the walkway from the apartment home next door float right in. This place could really use a couple of fans for white noise. But then the other issue would be where to plug them in. We were constantly looking for outlets where you didn't need to unplug something to use them. When you travel as a family, you're recharging phones, iPads, camera batteries, laptops, etc. We had one device plugged into every room and I thought for sure we were going to forget something.
The off-street parking was nice though. And coordinating with Bob was easy."

"We stayed here for week for our family vacation to Legoland and the beach. Couldn't have asked for a better location. Three minutes 30 seconds from the front door to feet in the sand (my wife timed it), and about a 10 minute drive to Legoland (only one exit south on I-5). Close to Carlsbad Village and plenty of shopping and dining options. The unit was clean, well maintained, and exactly as represented. We cooked a few meals there and found the kitchen to be well equipped. We has no issues at all, and the owners were very responsive to any questions that we had. We plan on going back and renting this unit again."
