  • Family vacation

"What a wonderful condo with the perfect location, and spacious rooms. Trips back and forth to the beach were easy and convenient. The condo was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Well stocked with all the necessities of home. When my brother brought a bag of fresh coffee beans, we even found a coffee grinder. My elderly parents were with us, and it was great having room for them to lounge and rest when they needed to. So much better than a hotel room. The location was perfect, and from the balcony, we enjoyed watching the sun set every night. It felt like home-away from home. We will keep this condo on our list for any return trips to San Diego. Thank you for sharing your condo with us."

  • What a great disconnect!

"We had such a great time in this condo! The location was PERFECT, right on the beach, top level was very private, and waking up with a cup of coffee watching surfers is a great way to disconnect. The condo had plenty of plates and silverware. There were no non-stick pans, so eggs were a little difficult, there were no metal tongs, so grilling was a little difficult, and there was no oil or cooking spray of any kind. We ended up having to drive up to the Vons by the freeway to get some basics so we could cook some basic meals at the house. The coffee maker did not have any filters! That was a very rough way to wake up the first morning, but luckily there is a coffee shop directly downstairs. Once we went back to the store for filters, we discovered that the coffee maker was broken! Luckily there was another one in one of the cabinets, but of course it doesn’t take the same kind of filters, so back to the store! Finally by day 3 we were able to make our own coffee. It was amazing to be able to walk directly down to the beach, to the store and to plenty of restaurants. The kids loved the fact that we could walk everywhere. The farmers market was pretty good, lots of food booths, not a lot of produce, but September was apparently a little late in the season for some of the other vendors. We still had a very good time. Down town is a very short drive, we went to SeaWorld, Balboa Park, and Cornado. All are within about 30 minutes. Despite some of the frustrations, we are already planning our return trip. We will just make sure we are better prepared."

Imperial Beach Travel Tips

Imperial Beach Vacation Apartments

Every July, hundreds of thousands of vacationers flock to Imperial Beach, California, for the U.S. Open Sand Castle Building Contest. With its clean white sand thought to be among the best in the nation, Imperial Beach is a prime beach getaway.

Imperial Beach vacation homes, many of which are right on the beach, are a great way to enjoy your stay in the San Diego area. Imperial Beach vacation apartments are just 20 miles from San Diego's world famous zoo and other attractions, yet the laid-back beaches are a world apart from the city hustle of San Diego -- and you won't have to deal with hotel crowds or worry about checking in or out at a specific time.

Try Your Hand at Surf Fishing

Step out the front door of your Imperial Beach vacation homes rental, walk a few feet to the shoreline, and cast your line into the surf. And you can enjoy a view of the Los Coronados Islands from the Imperial Beach Pier, which is actually within walking distance of the Mexican border.

While you're at the pier, be sure to take a look at "Surfhenge," the circle of unique surfboard benches with their accompanying plaques that tell the story of Imperial Beach's surfing history.

Dining on the Pier

When you're done fishing on the pier, stroll over to the Tin Fish for crab cakes that the locals call "incredible." Or, if you're in the mood for Greek salad with homemade dressing followed by sizzling kabobs, check out the family owned Beach Club Grille.

Imperial Beach vacation apartments allow you to live like the locals do. Relax in your own home away from home while you indulge in all that a beach getaway has to offer.

With San Diego vacation rentals, you're on your way to the perfect beach vacation.
