  • Family vacation

"What a wonderful condo with the perfect location, and spacious rooms. Trips back and forth to the beach were easy and convenient. The condo was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Well stocked with all the necessities of home. When my brother brought a bag of fresh coffee beans, we even found a coffee grinder. My elderly parents were with us, and it was great having room for them to lounge and rest when they needed to. So much better than a hotel room. The location was perfect, and from the balcony, we enjoyed watching the sun set every night. It felt like home-away from home. We will keep this condo on our list for any return trips to San Diego. Thank you for sharing your condo with us."

  • Fabulous Family Vacation Spot

"The Good: The view from the patio is awesome! You are literally steps from the beach! It was a wonderful location. The rooms are well sized. Kitchen was perfect for cooking both inside & grill outside was great too. The Bad: Maybe could have had a few more towels and a hair dryer. Response to previous review: Yes there are helicopters doing flight patterns overhead, but it really was not a distraction. The views, the waves, and all the rest supersedes that. The beach is clean and it is like your own private beach because there are so few people there. Yes, the nearest lifeguard is down quite a ways, but that was not a concern for us as we had children 9 & 10 years old swimming & under our supervision. ALL IN ALL: I highly recommend this site for your vacation!"

  • Delightful Time at the Beach

"My husband and I, along with our two small dogs, spent a delightful month in this beautiful studio condo this summer. The unit was beautifully decorated and had some very nice features such as granite in the kitchen and bathroom. The Murphy bed was comfortable and we quickly adjusted to the small space. We loved the location and how it was so close to the beach. We took our morning coffee to the little park at the end of Palm Avenue and watched the waves as we sat on the benches shaped like surfboards. At night, we sipped our wine as we watched the sunset over the crushing waves. Then we would walk to one of the nearby restaurants for dinner or cook a light meal in the fully equipped kitchen of the condo. We had everything we needed for our month at the beach...even down to the beach chairs stored on the patio. The patio was also a perfect place for my husband to store his bike when he wasn't taking his bike rides up to Coronado (about 10 minutes away by car). Even though the condo is a studio and is small, there were plenty of places for us to stash our bags and extra items that we brought with us. There was plenty of grassy areas within 100 feet of the condo for our dogs to take care of their needs. They loved walking along the beach sniffing the seaweed and romping in the waves. Our pups also enjoyed their walks down to the park in front of the pier. There isn't much in the way of shopping in Imperial Beach...and that was just fine with me. There is plenty of shopping just up the road in Coronado. San Diego is very close for shopping and dining. There are limited dining options in Imperial Beach and we managed to try almost all of them. The best part of our month at IB was the total relaxation we experienced and the extreme friendliness of the people. We will definitely stay here again. The one negative is that the condo is stuffy with limited air flow. We opened the windows and the sliding glass door and kept the fan on...and it was perfectly fine."

Imperial Beach Travel Tips

Imperial Beach Vacation Apartments

Every July, hundreds of thousands of vacationers flock to Imperial Beach, California, for the U.S. Open Sand Castle Building Contest. With its clean white sand thought to be among the best in the nation, Imperial Beach is a prime beach getaway.

Imperial Beach vacation homes, many of which are right on the beach, are a great way to enjoy your stay in the San Diego area. Imperial Beach vacation apartments are just 20 miles from San Diego's world famous zoo and other attractions, yet the laid-back beaches are a world apart from the city hustle of San Diego -- and you won't have to deal with hotel crowds or worry about checking in or out at a specific time.

Try Your Hand at Surf Fishing

Step out the front door of your Imperial Beach vacation homes rental, walk a few feet to the shoreline, and cast your line into the surf. And you can enjoy a view of the Los Coronados Islands from the Imperial Beach Pier, which is actually within walking distance of the Mexican border.

While you're at the pier, be sure to take a look at "Surfhenge," the circle of unique surfboard benches with their accompanying plaques that tell the story of Imperial Beach's surfing history.

Dining on the Pier

When you're done fishing on the pier, stroll over to the Tin Fish for crab cakes that the locals call "incredible." Or, if you're in the mood for Greek salad with homemade dressing followed by sizzling kabobs, check out the family owned Beach Club Grille.

Imperial Beach vacation apartments allow you to live like the locals do. Relax in your own home away from home while you indulge in all that a beach getaway has to offer.

With San Diego vacation rentals, you're on your way to the perfect beach vacation.
