  • Delightful Time at the Beach

"My husband and I, along with our two small dogs, spent a delightful month in this beautiful studio condo this summer. The unit was beautifully decorated and had some very nice features such as granite in the kitchen and bathroom. The Murphy bed was comfortable and we quickly adjusted to the small space. We loved the location and how it was so close to the beach. We took our morning coffee to the little park at the end of Palm Avenue and watched the waves as we sat on the benches shaped like surfboards. At night, we sipped our wine as we watched the sunset over the crushing waves. Then we would walk to one of the nearby restaurants for dinner or cook a light meal in the fully equipped kitchen of the condo. We had everything we needed for our month at the beach...even down to the beach chairs stored on the patio. The patio was also a perfect place for my husband to store his bike when he wasn't taking his bike rides up to Coronado (about 10 minutes away by car). Even though the condo is a studio and is small, there were plenty of places for us to stash our bags and extra items that we brought with us. There was plenty of grassy areas within 100 feet of the condo for our dogs to take care of their needs. They loved walking along the beach sniffing the seaweed and romping in the waves. Our pups also enjoyed their walks down to the park in front of the pier. There isn't much in the way of shopping in Imperial Beach...and that was just fine with me. There is plenty of shopping just up the road in Coronado. San Diego is very close for shopping and dining. There are limited dining options in Imperial Beach and we managed to try almost all of them. The best part of our month at IB was the total relaxation we experienced and the extreme friendliness of the people. We will definitely stay here again. The one negative is that the condo is stuffy with limited air flow. We opened the windows and the sliding glass door and kept the fan on...and it was perfectly fine."

  • what a beautiful apartment

"My husband and myself stayed here for our 2 year anniversary, and let me tell you... WOW! This apartment was immaculate! When you first walk in they have the doors open, windows open and you are staring right at the beach and ocean! The apartment itself was beautiful and updated as well. We couldnt get the TV tonwork or dvd player BUT honestly who needs all that when the beach is right in front of you! There are big beautiful windows that lead to the balacony where we spent most of our time because the beach is literally right there, I'd say the water is about 40-50 yards away! Man I just cant say enough good things about this place lol. The bed was also comfy as well as the couch to take naps on with the doors open and ocean breeze. Apartment is close to shops and the pier, about a 5 min walk. Theres an awesome bad within 30 secs of the apartment called "ye old plank inn" which is such a fun bar with amazibgly delicious bloody marys! If you cant tell by my review, I'd highly recommend this apartment!! We will def go back!!"

  • Beach Getaway

"Great hide away on the beach. The most southwestern apartment in the U.S.A. Great views of not only the ocean but the Estuary as well. The owner was very accomodating. Would definitely consider going back. Highly recommended."

Imperial Beach Travel Tips

Imperial Beach Vacation Apartments

Every July, hundreds of thousands of vacationers flock to Imperial Beach, California, for the U.S. Open Sand Castle Building Contest. With its clean white sand thought to be among the best in the nation, Imperial Beach is a prime beach getaway.

Imperial Beach vacation homes, many of which are right on the beach, are a great way to enjoy your stay in the San Diego area. Imperial Beach vacation apartments are just 20 miles from San Diego's world famous zoo and other attractions, yet the laid-back beaches are a world apart from the city hustle of San Diego -- and you won't have to deal with hotel crowds or worry about checking in or out at a specific time.

Try Your Hand at Surf Fishing

Step out the front door of your Imperial Beach vacation homes rental, walk a few feet to the shoreline, and cast your line into the surf. And you can enjoy a view of the Los Coronados Islands from the Imperial Beach Pier, which is actually within walking distance of the Mexican border.

While you're at the pier, be sure to take a look at "Surfhenge," the circle of unique surfboard benches with their accompanying plaques that tell the story of Imperial Beach's surfing history.

Dining on the Pier

When you're done fishing on the pier, stroll over to the Tin Fish for crab cakes that the locals call "incredible." Or, if you're in the mood for Greek salad with homemade dressing followed by sizzling kabobs, check out the family owned Beach Club Grille.

Imperial Beach vacation apartments allow you to live like the locals do. Relax in your own home away from home while you indulge in all that a beach getaway has to offer.

With San Diego vacation rentals, you're on your way to the perfect beach vacation.
