  • Great little place!

"We were really impressed with the level of care Don and Mary Jo put into the updating and maintenance of this cabin. We came up for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We brought our two dogs as well, and they were in heaven! We used the grill every day. The bed was comfy and all the appliances/decor have been updated. We had a hiccup with the doorknob to the deck not working, but the owners came up literally the next day to fix it. Spectacular service! The only problem we had was that the internet was not functional. Normally I would not have cared (as the whole point of going up to the mountains is to getaway), but I had some homework to finish and submit by the end of the weekend. It was a little inconvenient to go hunting around for internet access. Overall, a great time! Thanks again!"

  • Christmas Vacation! (for real!)

"This property was absolutely perfect for our family of 15 people to spend Christmas together and celebrate my mother-in-laws 80th birthday! Sharon is fabulous to deal with as well - she went out of her way to ensure everything was handled for our trip from putting up some Christmas decorations to heating up the pool for us in advance of our arrival, to getting us great discounted tickets for the Wild Animal Park and ensured our stay was perfect. It was not easy to find a place that could host 14 adults and a 1 1/2 year old! It was wonderful as each couple could have their own bedroom and bathroom. We stocked up at the Costco that was close by and made all our dinners in the fabulous kitchen. Everyone was able to have a seat for dinners, using both the dining room table and kitchen bar. The huge center island was so wonderful for serving and preparation. Having 2 dishwashers for our large group was key! One of our favorite things was spending our mornings out on the patio by the pool and the firepit. Everyone got their coffee and enjoyed the sunrise and talking in this warm and inviting area. We BBQ'd lunches and also made some great steaks on the outside grill. The pools/patio area of the property was loved by our entire group - the views are spectacular and sunsets amazing! The kids also really enjoyed playing ping pong and basketball in the game room. We all spent alot of time in the hottub and thoroughly enjoyed it each day! The spacious living room allowed space for our entire group to play games together at night and enjoy our annual Christmas tradition of watching, "Christmas Vacation" on the DVD player and big screen TV. It was absolutely quiet at night and made for a peaceful and relaxing sleep for all! We spent one day at the Wild Animal Park which is literally about 5 minutes from the house. Had an easy drive to the airport from the house as well. Highly recommend this property for a large group in particular!"

  • Cute cottage close to Balboa Park and Activities!

"We rented this cottage for a bit over a week with our preschooler. We were initially considering a hotel but so glad we chose this cottage instead. We chose it for its proximity to Balboa Park but also found it an easy drive to downtown, Coronado, and even Legoland (which took 40 minutes each way even leaving at 8:30 - 8:50 am!). This was much easier than packing up to stay there for two nights. It is a cute 2 bedroom and one bath cottage which would be great for families or friends. There is a washer and dryer plus nice flat screen and DVD player with both wifi and a great selection of cable channels, though we were out mostly. Also, some board games plus DVDs and books when you are relaxing there. We found the parking very easy but only a few blocks from some great neighborhood restaurants. We enjoyed being able to have breakfast at home most mornings and also cooking a few dinners as well. We ate outside a few times with the nice weather in the evenings. There was even a nice BBQ, but we didn't get a chance to use it. There are so many museums and things to see in Balboa Park which makes this a great home base and in a more quiet residential area away from some of the busy noisier areas. I also found some nice runs through Balboa Park from the East side and got some hill training as well. There were a number of runners/walkers out so it felt very safe. It is less than a half mile to the east side of the park. We found driving up 26th street an easy way to get to the museums."
