"My friends and I truly enjoyed our stay here. It was very convenient to Julian town and had a little southern charm to it. There was plenty of room and the view overlooked the town. We enjoyed drinking our wines on the patio while watching the stars. I would recommend this place to everyone. Thanks Marta for your hospitality!"

"Our husbands were best friends at UCSD and we consider ourselves a FRAMILY. Because we live in different spots and life gets busy, we vowed to get together every year for a long weekend spent with each other and our children. This is the 2nd year in a row we chose to stay at the REDMOND estate in Julian and again it far surpassed our expectations. The house is a perfect set up for our families to relax without feeling like we are on top of one another. The grounds, the pool, the screened in porch, the yard all add to its charm and make it the best type of vacation spot - one you don't want to or need to leave. We will definitely be back again."

Love this place! Paul has done a great job on this beautiful place.
"This cabin is like no other that I have ever been in. It is truly a rustic and authentic outdoorsy feel and the wildlife that comes to your door makes you feel very at home. I am from the Midwest, so when I come out to the cabin to stay with my wife, it is really getting back to my roots. The accommodations are first rate. If you are looking for a place for some peace and quite, where you can just get back to yourself, this is the place to go."

"I can't say enough great things about the property. Secluded at the end of a cul-de-sac, we felt totally isolated which is what we were looking for. A short drive from Julian made it the perfect getaway. There was enough room for 2 adults and 3 children to move around and not feel like we were cramped. The large upstairs living room was a perfect play area for the kids as it was rainy most of the weekend, and the fantastic fireplace was a perfect setting for roasting marshmallows and hotdogs. The downstairs was perfect for the adults to "escape" for a few minutes of peace and quiet. I would suggest arriving before dark so you can easily navigate your way to the electric and finding the heat. READ THE BOOK before you settle in as it gives detailed instructions on everything. We got in late we neglected to read it until the next morning, so we didn't know where to turn on the heat... we were warm enough with the plug in heaters, but once we discovered the heat, it was very comfy in the cabin.
AND talk about supplies. I brought things I did not need. There are dishes and utensils galore. I've rented places that said it was stocked and there were only 4 settings of everything and 2 pans. There is enough in the cabin that I didn't need to bring anything but food.
As I said, it rained and with rain comes ants. We didn't discover them until the very last day and in the book it clearly indicated where the ant spray was and what to do. IT is the country folks... and that is a piece of nature. We did find that they LOVE to crawl all over the car though. But a thorough spray of the hose and they were history. Not a big deal to us...
One more note is the manager, Gina... she is fabulous. We never did meet but she was very accommodating. We can't praise this cabin enough and would buy it if it were for sale.
Another note is a trip to the Smith Railroad and Mine. The kids loved riding the railcards and going into the mine in a coal car. The obstacle coarse was a big hit too. SO glad we were able to fit that in and that the rain stopped for us to go."
