  • I wish that "6 stars" was an option

"This house is truly magical. I have never felt compelled to write a review of any kind before, but this house was quite inspiring. We had such an amazing time in this perfect location. The house was well stocked for cooking, entertaining/playing, relaxing, etc. I wish that we could have stayed longer--we will definitely be back!"

  • Lovely Setting

"We stayed at this lovely cabin this past weekend. My husband and his friend were taking part in a dualsport bike ride in and around the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, so we opted to stay in Julian. This cabin was perfect for the 3 of us, well 4 if you count Bentley our Great Dane. Arrived late in the day on Friday, the guys had a fire going on my arrival, and I was pleased to find a well supplied kitchen. I cook a lot, and I always struggle with rental properties. The bedrooms are downstairs, along with the main bathroom. Both are of comfortable size, we took the one with the french windows leading out onto the garden. Bathroom is new, great water pressure. Upstairs off the kitchen you'll find a 1/2 bath. There is a big deck off the living room, with chairs, you can sit and drink your coffee and listen to the birds, it's so peaceful. The living area became my home for the weekend. After a long walk in the park next door, Bentley and I re lit the fire and curled up with a book. We had a visit later on in the afternoon from what I now know is a rafter of wild turkeys, luckily Bentley was still asleep. The guys came home, we had drinks and appetizers in front of the fire, and then actually sat downstairs at the table for dinner. If it hadn't of been raining on Sunday morning, I would have stayed as late as I possible could. I really didn't want the 3 hour drive home. We will come back, it was the perfect setting for a weekend away. Just a heads up to other pet owners, the property isn't fenced, but if you have a well behaved dog, you won't have a problem."

  • Quaint, Cozy Retreat

"What a wonderful weekend spent at Stoneapple Farm. The property itself is 4+ acres of perfect space, with the home nestled in the center. The cottage, as other reviewers have noted, is comfortable, cozy, and has such unique character. While exploring Julian, we found many locals who knew the Odell family personally, and spoke of their own fondness for Stoneapple. I was also very impressed with the back yard's enclosed fencing, which allowed our dog to run and have his own space. I will be booking another stay as soon as I can!"

  • Clean and Friendly!

"Husband and I were celebrating an anniversary. This was a great getaway! Everything was cozy and clean, the owners were availble but not intrusive, overall we had a wonderful stay. Unless you want to walk along the highway (which some people do), you will have to drive into town and find a parking spot for shopping, dining, etc."
