"What a wonderful weekend spent at Stoneapple Farm. The property itself is 4+ acres of perfect space, with the home nestled in the center. The cottage, as other reviewers have noted, is comfortable, cozy, and has such unique character. While exploring Julian, we found many locals who knew the Odell family personally, and spoke of their own fondness for Stoneapple. I was also very impressed with the back yard's enclosed fencing, which allowed our dog to run and have his own space. I will be booking another stay as soon as I can!"

"The house was lovely and actually seemed bigger than the pictures made it appear. We were pleasantly surprised that there was wifi. Some of the girls were sad they didn't have cell service, but it meant we had better girl time. I definitely want to come back (this place would be great as a romantic getaway, family time or girl's night)
The owner was very friendly and helpful. She thought of everything we might need. My only regret was that I decided not to bring something to grill on the grill outside.
If you do have trouble walking then your car better be able to go up a steep gravel driveway, otherwise you will have to walk a steep hill (not a problem for healthy people)."

"Husband and I were celebrating an anniversary. This was a great getaway! Everything was cozy and clean, the owners were availble but not intrusive, overall we had a wonderful stay. Unless you want to walk along the highway (which some people do), you will have to drive into town and find a parking spot for shopping, dining, etc."

"Ended up at Corgie Castle last minute with my two young children and mother for a few days during Spring break. My only criteria was that the home be driving distance from LA with an enclosed yard -- Corgie Castle fit the bill!
This is a very spacious, large home which sits on a hilltop with incredible vista views. There are chickens, a professional garden, flowers, and plenty of room to roam and play outside. In the evening, we enjoyed walking along the private road it's located on and spotted wild turkeys!
The fun and neat thing about the house is all the different rooms you will discover while there. Every time you open a new door, another nook and cranny is unveiled. It's very clean. The master suite is fit for a Queen and is a fun throwback from another era...
Our favorite room was the kitchen. Condusive to gathering family, cooking, and celebrating. The details in the furnishings, especially in the kitchen and living room, are European with a mix of quaint and tired. My critique would to include a fresh coat of paint, new carpeting, and improving water pressure. Still, even without these creature comforts, the rental is a bargain!
It's the simple pleasures really. Hot coffee in the morning in the backyard. Waking to the birds chirping. Bob the gardener offering a sample of fresh picked erosemary.
Julian is a cute, historic town. My toddler went gold mining and rode the little train. We enjoyed farm fresh eggs every morning and Apple pie. We enjoyed this quirky spot and the children have already asked when we can come back to our "Spring House"."
