"Older home in mountain neighborhood. Not far from the town of Julian and local wineries. Very close to Wooden Nickel Brewery. Property is completely fenced in and PERFECT for pets. The house was immaculately cleaned prior to arrival. Home has a ton of windows so staying cool is not an issue. The air conditioning works well in the living room/kitchen but doesn't quite make it to the bedroom. All appliances worked well and charcoal and matches are provided for the grill. There are plenty of towels provided in the bathroom. All in all it was a wonderful getaway for all-including the pups!!!!"

"I can't say enough great things about the property. Secluded at the end of a cul-de-sac, we felt totally isolated which is what we were looking for. A short drive from Julian made it the perfect getaway. There was enough room for 2 adults and 3 children to move around and not feel like we were cramped. The large upstairs living room was a perfect play area for the kids as it was rainy most of the weekend, and the fantastic fireplace was a perfect setting for roasting marshmallows and hotdogs. The downstairs was perfect for the adults to "escape" for a few minutes of peace and quiet. I would suggest arriving before dark so you can easily navigate your way to the electric and finding the heat. READ THE BOOK before you settle in as it gives detailed instructions on everything. We got in late we neglected to read it until the next morning, so we didn't know where to turn on the heat... we were warm enough with the plug in heaters, but once we discovered the heat, it was very comfy in the cabin.
AND talk about supplies. I brought things I did not need. There are dishes and utensils galore. I've rented places that said it was stocked and there were only 4 settings of everything and 2 pans. There is enough in the cabin that I didn't need to bring anything but food.
As I said, it rained and with rain comes ants. We didn't discover them until the very last day and in the book it clearly indicated where the ant spray was and what to do. IT is the country folks... and that is a piece of nature. We did find that they LOVE to crawl all over the car though. But a thorough spray of the hose and they were history. Not a big deal to us...
One more note is the manager, Gina... she is fabulous. We never did meet but she was very accommodating. We can't praise this cabin enough and would buy it if it were for sale.
Another note is a trip to the Smith Railroad and Mine. The kids loved riding the railcards and going into the mine in a coal car. The obstacle coarse was a big hit too. SO glad we were able to fit that in and that the rain stopped for us to go."

"Our husbands were best friends at UCSD and we consider ourselves a FRAMILY. Because we live in different spots and life gets busy, we vowed to get together every year for a long weekend spent with each other and our children. This is the 2nd year in a row we chose to stay at the REDMOND estate in Julian and again it far surpassed our expectations. The house is a perfect set up for our families to relax without feeling like we are on top of one another. The grounds, the pool, the screened in porch, the yard all add to its charm and make it the best type of vacation spot - one you don't want to or need to leave. We will definitely be back again."

"Cedar Creek Falls Retreat is an awesome place to hold a RETREAT! We had 6 women and the cabin was so awesome, feels like your in a tree house with the beautiful oaks, pines, birds, and deer. The outside deck that wraps around the cabin is so awesome along with full kitchen, plenty of comfortable living and sleeping space.
We did Yoga, Pilates, Hikes, Art, and much more and would recommend this to anyone doing a Retreat or Family Reunion. There is a great park only a few miles away with amazing hiking trails and a play ground for kids The owner was awesome and worked with me on details. I'm definitely going back!"
