  • Beautiful house, beautiful landscaping, perfect location!

"House totally outfitted with every convenience for living away from home, and living at the beach. First class appliances!!! Spotlessly clean! The only suggestions I have are for reading lamps in the bedrooms (and possibly TV's in the downstairs bedrooms). The main floor bedrooms need better quality beds. - - - - We explored someplace new every day besides walking the beaches. Loved walking around the quaint streets and taking in the variety of architecture that makes LaJolla so charming. Our favorite eateries were the Crabcatcher, and Bernini's, although we managed to squeeze in so many other great places too. Always enjoy watching the seals, and the walkway along the ocean........ it is the perfect Oceanside town! A great place to get away from the gray and cold of our home in Wash. state during the winter months. We would recommend this beautiful home to others!"

  • Great location, clean and comfortable!

"We stayed at Fern Glen over Christmas 2014. The house is located on a quiet, residential street and is only a 2 minute walk to the ocean, close to great restaurants and a grocery store. The house was very comfortable and very spacious for our family with 2 teenagers. We loved coming back to the house to relax after a day of adventure! We had everything we needed and appreciated being able to do laundry. We were a little surprised that the ensuite was off the second bedroom and not the master, but it was great that our kids had their own bathroom. The two double beds in the second bedroom worked wonderfully for our son and daughter and all beds were extremely comfortable. We had some problems contacting Lisa just prior to our arrival which surprised me because she had responded so quickly all other times we had contacted her but when she did contact us, she explained she was out of the country on vacation. Arrangements for the rental were easy to make. We would definitely stay here again! We loved spending Christmas at this house!"

  • Just like staying at Grandma's house

"When we arrived at the Point Loma Woods, my girls noticed the sign by the side entrance that said "Casa de Abuelita". That is what this place felt like for us - like visiting Grandma's house. There were 8 of us in the house, and we never felt like we were in each other's space. In fact, sleeping on the other side of the house from my kids I never heard them at all! My girls, being cold-hardy Canadians, loved the pool and were in it as often as they could. It would have been even nicer if it had been heated! The location was PERFECT, and we appreciated the binder full of restaurant recommendations, and relied on them when we were looking for a place to eat. There were a few small things that made it impossible for me to give 5*, even though we had a wonderful stay, but they were minor inconveniences. The bathrooms, in particular, could use some work. The showers were very low, and hard to get the temperature right, and the bathtub did not drain properly. But as I said, these were minor inconveniences and didn't really take away from our enjoyment during our stay."

  • Lovely house, close to terrific beach, very nice outdoor areas

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Beach House. The weather was perfect and we really enjoyed the outdoor spaces. We put the umbrella up on the front porch and sat out there many hours, reading, watching folks go by,etc. A couple of days it got too warm so we put on the AC during the day (it worked fine) but were always able to open up the house at night. The neighborhood is relatively quiet, although there was more traffic than we expected. Parking was generally good except on the weekends, when all the beachgoers wanted to park close as possible so it was difficult to find a space. The kitchen is a very narrow galley style so two people can't cook at one time, but does have a very adequate supply of dishes and pots and pans. Bathrooms are very nice, but without grab bars (no one seems to ever have them!) The beds were comfy and the house nicely decorated. We will definitely consider returning here!"
