Nice house near San Diego
"Six of us stayed here for a week in late June and it was great. The home is very comfortable with a cool layout so the backyard/pool is visible from the kitchen, dining, master, and living room. The kids couldn't get enough of the pool, but it is so easy to watch them from inside or poolside while relaxing. We easily cooked breakfast and dinner every night - sometimes using the gas grill and the fresh picked oranges, limes, and lemons was such a cool thing to have available. The neighborhood is quiet except for planes taking off in the mornings - but not a real big deal to us. We had a car so it was easy to get to Legoland (45 minutes), Sea World, Zoo, Cabrillo NM, Mission Hills, Sunset Cliffs, Mission Beach, downtown, airport, and all of Balboa Park. We would certainly rent here again if San Diego became our destination again!"

"My family stayed here for Christmas week. The upstairs had doors we could close, ideal for our bunch of noisy kids. Even with 14 people, there was plenty of hot water—no cold showers! The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and the linens were nice. Although, a bedroom suite on the main floor was awkward as you had to pass through another bedroom to enter it or use its separate exterior door. The location is okay. The street is busy during the day but quiets down at night so you can sleep. The grocery store and many other shopping locations are five-minutes away. The beach due west has nice sand and isn't crowded. The kitchen has a lot of supplies, but they are scattered, so you have to hunt for things. The upstairs apartment has no fridge or stove, just a toaster oven, a microwave, dishwasher, and wine cooler. We would have preferred a stove and fridge, especially since there is a space for them. Including them would make this second story apartment ideal as a stand alone rental.
When we arrived, we found that the property had not been cleaned adequately, but, we contacted the property manager and they sent someone out the next morning and cleaned again and got it right. Also, the property is showing wear and needs some attention. For instance, the leather sofa cushions have spots that are worn and should be replaced. There are also a lot of dings in the walls that should be patched, and there are some areas that need touch-up paint. That being said, it is a good property and one that our family would rent again for a big family gathering, provided the wear issues were addressed and it was clean upon arrival."

"Parking was a issue a few nights but w patients we could find a place and not have to walk to far. Good location with close by beaches and shopping the Kitchen is good and stocked with all cooking needs. The towels are big and soft also includes Beach towels two bikes and some boogie boards for catching waves. Not for a loud group tho as its a very quiet location out side neighborhood dogs which where not bad. Extremely clean and an easy to use lay out! Comfortable bed and couch!"

"Michelle was very nice to allow us in a few hours early so we could watch the Super Bowl - many thanks!
Cottage was fine with about everything that you could ask for and the location is excellent - near everything including beaches, coffee shops, downtown La Jolla, and all services. I was a little worried about parking, but never has any problem. When we did have a problem with a table lamp, it was taken care of very quickly. We were impressed with all the "goodies" in the garage that help to make the vacation fun (beach chairs, bikes, boards, little wagon, etc. A very nice touch.
There are a few upgrades the cottage could use as well as some defered mantainance as it's getting well used, but all-in-all, it worked out great and worth the cost. We hope to return again in the next few years and will hope to stay again in the cottage."
