  • Excellent location

"This was our second time staying here and it was just as good as the first! We were able to use the gas grill on the patio on Christmas Day to grill out some fantastic steaks. We even used the blow up mattress instead of one of the king size beds because my 2 1/2 year old is too small for the bed but too much of a big boy for the pack-n-play. =) It was great having a place to park and watching everyone else try to find a parking spot in La Jolla. We were only 20-25 minutes north of SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo and 35 minutes south of LegoLand. The kids got to watch sealions and build sandcastles in La Jolla Cove (quick walk away). Loved it (again)!!!!"

  • FANTASTIC PROPERTY FOR AN AMAZING PRICE!!!

"Let me start by saying that I will definitely be staying here again and I found my San Diego area place to stay when in town. The unit is big and in great condition, the appliances are nicer than what I have at home, there is a nice big TV in the living room with cable and DVR, and, last but certainly not least, you can see the sunset on the ocean from the balcony (the profile pic is the balcony view and during our stay that piece of the ocean was where the sun set :) ). If you are not happy enough watching the sunset from the balcony, the unit is one very small block back from the ocean and takes a minute to walk to. When you walk to the beach, you go down a few stairs and you are on a beautiful sandy beach with two point breaks on either side. The beach is long enough not to be crowded at all and one of the points is the legendary Windansea surf break, so there is no lack of talented surfers to watch as you enjoy the sun and sand. Back at the condo, there is a large private back patio with a nice gas grill. The second night we were there we grilled up some steaks and made chili on the state of the art smooth electric range. Then the wife and I sat down to the dinning room table and enjoyed our dinner with a delicious bottle of wine that the owner so graciously gave to us! After dinner, we played monopoly (provided) and watched a couple of movies that we had DVRed on the comfy pull out couch in the living room... it was one of the best wedding anniversaries that we've had, thanks to this superb listing! Parking was perfect, right in the driveway of the condo, and the condo is located close to the shops and restaurants in La Jolla. However, I recommend ordering some pizza and garlic knots from Pizza on Pearl, which delivers to the condo. The WiFi was great, a washer and dryer were available to wash clothes, and there were even boogie boards and bikes available to use. It seems that the owner has really thought about everything we could have needed as each time the wife and I thought about something, sure enough, the condo had it. As for the noise issue that the one 4 star rating discussed, we never at anytime noticed any noise from the unit above and we know that people were there as we saw them walk into the unit. I'd be surprised if noise is ever an issue at this sleepy condo. Overall, an extremely beautiful and comfortable place to spend some quiet time in heaven!!!"

  • La Jolla Gem

"We spent a fabulous August week at the house in La Jolla with the kids and our 5 & 7 year old grand kids. Did we ever make the right decision! The house is quite elegant in a modern way. It's extremely comfortable with every amenity one could possibly need. In fact, the house is so nice that it made my everyday abode feel shabby by comparison. Elena is one of those people who seems compulsively clean and neat so in that department the house was impeccable. If you walked barefoot in the house you'd be more inclined to worry about getting the floors dirty than the other way around. The previous year we stayed in Mission Beach, a short, short walk from the water. At first I thought we might be too far away this year. Not so at all. In fact, it was much better to be away from the madding crowd yet very close in to shops, restaurants, grocery stores and the beaches. At the end of the day I loved sitting on the little deck by the front door, looking at the beautiful views of the ocean, the beaches and San Diego with no noise, just calmness. One of the many things we loved was the back yard and outdoor eating area. The kids had a great place to play with a soccer ball and putt golf balls and we could sit comfortably and watch them and participate when we felt like it. And if there was information we needed about the house, Elena got us the answer right away. She and her husband are extremely gracious hosts who put a premium on customer service. I'm trying to think of a complaint. Hmmm...... A couple of minutes have passed. Can’t come up with anything."

  • Wonderful Space Inside and Out!

"My husband, my two adult children and I spent Christmas at the Treetop Casita and we were all very pleased with the accommodations. We were attending a family reunion and memorial and needed to have a place to retreat to after long days in addition to hosting an occasional meal. The house was perfect and provided a comfortable space for everyone to gather and the outdoor space expanded the possibilities because the weather was perfect. The views from every room and balcony were exceptional and I looked forward to raising the shades each morning, sipping my coffee while watching the sun rise over the ocean. There is a trail head right down the block to the La Jolla Heights Trail which we didn't discover until the day before we were leaving which is shame because it was a lovely trail which ended with a panoramic view of the entire city. Great exercise and exceptional views. The house is a short walk to town, the beach and all the shopping and restaurants you could desire. We are all looking forward to our next visit and hope that this was the first of many stays in the lovely Tree Top Casita."
