"We stayed for a week, two families, four adults, 2 five-year old girls. We had a lovely time. The house is spacious, comfortable, and all of the necessities are available, including a tv in nearly every room, which might sound like overkill, but not when you have two kids who have different movie agendas. We had a couple of minor hitches and Brant was super responsive. We will definitely be back."

"We had a great time in this La Jolla gem! Six of us (including our daughter, son-in-law and two grandkids) thoroughly enjoyed being able to walk to La Jolla shores beach, but the house itself was also totally wonderful--very clean, nicely laid out with the master suite for us and the other two bedrooms and bath for them. Loved the shower, bath/shower and kitchen renovations. Even though it is a short block away from La Jolla Shores Drive, we heard no traffic noise other than a car that needed some muffler work! The view up to the Hillside Drive area and to the eastern hills is lovely, helped by the perfectly clear and bright days we were fortunate to have during our stay. The two-car garage is really great because street parking can be tight in this area. The beds are all very comfortable. The kitchen is lovely and well-equipped. Having the front gated area PLUS the back courtyard (complete with a fully loaded lemon tree!) for the kids to play safely was a real bonus. There is a pack n play in the bedroom closet. Since this wasn't mentioned in the listing, we had rented one with an additional softer mattress for our 19-month-old grandson, so probably he slept a bit better on the rental than on the basic mattress. We had a great time and would recommend this house to anyone looking for an authentic, traditional La Jolla experience!"

"Rented this home for my husband's 60th birthday. Stayed here with our adult children and their spouses, but this would be a great home for families of any age. Plenty of room for everyone to gather in the living room that faces the ocean across the street. As we were there the first week in January, we enjoyed the fireplace in the living room. Each bedroom had it's own flat screen tv and with 3 bathrooms each couple was able to have their own space as well. The master bedroom has a spacious bathroom with walk-in closets. Stunning views of the ocean/sunset from the living room and 2nd floor patio. This home is beautifully decorated and very clean. We had a minor problem with a shower door and the owner had someone there within an hour to fix it. The owner was great to work with during the rental process and refunding our deposit.
The outdoor living area with heated pool, flat screen tv and grill was a great place to relax. This home is in a beautiful residential area. Excellent location across from the beach/park. Short drive/walk to downtown LaJolla with a great selection of restaurants and shops. Easy access to the highway to nearby San Diego as well.
We would definitely rent this home again and have already recommended it to others."

"Elegant old La Jolla home in a great location that is a two minute walk to La Jolla Shores beach and a 10 minute walk to downtown La Jolla. The home has a great layout, providing three separate areas for gathering (western lawn and deck, living & dining areas and the large eastern patio), so the home never feels crowded and easily handles friends and family gatherings. The home has great views from the deck and patio, and I found myself quite content to sit on the patio and gaze up the coast for hours.
While it's near a busy road, it's far enough away that road noise was never an issue. It's also far enough away from the main beach and downtown that parking is always plentiful and the neighborhood is quite quiet.
There's a hidden beach access path 200 yards from the house, next to the Marine Room restaurant, and we used this access to go snorkeling with leopard sharks in front of the Marine Room, and to walk north toward the pier to go surfing and boogie boarding.
We also walked into town a number of days and evenings for the restaurants and galleries - taking the Coast Walk trail to avoid the streets and enjoy the incredible views.
A beautiful, relaxing and well located home - and it was a pleasure to pretend it was ours for a week."
