  • Perfect family vacation home

"We were very pleased with the rental. Lots of space and a very well equipped kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms were reasonably spacious. We did not use the game room much, but it seemed like an enjoyable place to hang out. We enjoyed the sunsets from the deck - probably a winter phenomenon. We could walk "downtown" in 20 minutes via quiet streets. The beach areas and downtown La Jolla were bustling with people and traffic, but the rental was always quiet. Good food and a grocery store nearby. The agent was very responsive the two times that we contacted her. We highly recommend this rental."

  • Great location

"The location cannot be beat. It is smaller than we expected due to much of the square footage being taken up in hallways but once you get used to that it is very comfortable. The second bedroom is very small. The owners could not have been more accommodating, responding quickly the any questions. One covered parking space but extra outdoor parking is easily available. Balcony is small and view is of the street. well furnished."

  • Wonderful location, not so wonderful furniture, but that's the only small problem!

"This site includes a very private and quiet place to stay in La Jolla. You can truly walk to a lot of things. Great parking nearby. Not much to look at outside the condo back door but the rest of La Jolla is outside. The furniture (although it states that it's new)all appear to be worn and shabby chic/ beach used. The beds were okay... In December we needed the heat and that was difficult to modulate. Otherwise clean and nice. Would love for the owner to put new cooking pans in the unit, as they were completely torn up. Still, would stay here again!!!"

  • Two-bedroom Gem!

"My husband and I were looking for a winter retreat and we hit the jackpot with Garden Cottage. Cozy, clean and comfortable, tastefully appointed, lovingly landscaped and private, the cottage answered all of our needs. The area offers so much: La Jolla with its shops, restaurants and beaches would be enough, but there is also the draw of San Diego and its many points of interest, such as the Zoo and Balboa Park, the Aquarium and Sea World. We hope to return to the Cottage and would enthusiastically recommend it to friends. Bruce was a great host and even emailed to remind us of the weekly Sunday farmer's market within walking distance, another must-do. What did we love most about the Cottage? Its backyard garden oasis, with two fountains and soft night lighting."
