Good house for extended family
"My family stayed here for Christmas week. The upstairs had doors we could close, ideal for our bunch of noisy kids. Even with 14 people, there was plenty of hot water—no cold showers! The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and the linens were nice. Although, a bedroom suite on the main floor was awkward as you had to pass through another bedroom to enter it or use its separate exterior door. The location is okay. The street is busy during the day but quiets down at night so you can sleep. The grocery store and many other shopping locations are five-minutes away. The beach due west has nice sand and isn't crowded. The kitchen has a lot of supplies, but they are scattered, so you have to hunt for things. The upstairs apartment has no fridge or stove, just a toaster oven, a microwave, dishwasher, and wine cooler. We would have preferred a stove and fridge, especially since there is a space for them. Including them would make this second story apartment ideal as a stand alone rental.
When we arrived, we found that the property had not been cleaned adequately, but, we contacted the property manager and they sent someone out the next morning and cleaned again and got it right. Also, the property is showing wear and needs some attention. For instance, the leather sofa cushions have spots that are worn and should be replaced. There are also a lot of dings in the walls that should be patched, and there are some areas that need touch-up paint. That being said, it is a good property and one that our family would rent again for a big family gathering, provided the wear issues were addressed and it was clean upon arrival."

"My husband and I and our four children--ages 8-18--regularly stay at VRBO homes. This one is the best so far. We have found it always difficult to get a true feel for a home's location on VRBO when we are unfamiliar with the area/city in which we are looking. This one truly is PERFECTLY located!! Our 8 and 10 year-old girls walked--barefoot--to the beach everyday. It is a couple blocks on sidewalks and we would not have let them go alone but it was sooooo easy. We took chairs, beach umbrellas and a cooler and had no trouble getting everything to the beach on foot. We also walked to breakfast/lunch/dinner most days.
Even with its nearness to the beach, the house felt very private once inside. This is thanks to the yard being completely enclosed by beautiful hedges, flowers and trees. Sitting outside for dinner, one would never guess that the location was so close-in. Our 18-year-old came home from the beach everynight and sat outside in the beautiful front yard reading or talking to friends on his computer (Yes, the wi-fi is good for all you parents of teenagers.) There was plenty of space for suntanning on the deck off the master bedroom for our 16 year-old who's not a fan of sand. Sand removal was easy for the rest of us thanks to the outside shower in the side yard--which also provides really handy off-street parking.
Like all the very best VRBO homes, this house was very well-stocked and well-maintained. Barbara was very attentive. It had everything we needed. When we couldn't find a cooler for the beach on our first day (though all the other beach necessities are there), we texted Barbara to ask if there was one there that we were just missing and within 20 minutes she had delivered a new cooler to us!
Barbara recommended that we walk down to WindanSea beach about a half mile from the house to watch surfers. Our land-locked Kansas kids loved it.
We were sad to leave this place but happy to find our drive to the airport was quick and really easy. I could go on forever. Great place!"

"10 of us stayed here for a beach house vacation and it was one of the most majestic houses we've ever stayed at. The layout of the house was like a dream house with a lovely view of the ocean. The house even had lovely swing in the backyard, which felt magical. It was minutes away from the beach and the owner was very wonderful and accommodating to work with. Would recommend this house to anyone!"

"I travelled with my wife and 2 small kids. The location was perfect- quiet building, quiet neighborhood, walking distance to the beach, a playground, and restaurants. Chelsea, the person that meets you on day 1 to give you the keys, was great and available during the week for any issues. The apartment was very good overall- clean, modern, but needs some updating- bathtub in master is broken, doors are windowpaned and see through with clunky blinds you can roll down but that don't work well or that are broken; the parking spot is a challenge- in the back of the building, up a steep hill. Garage access would make life easier. However, the positives far away the negative, and at the price point, and the location, I would definitely stay here again."
