  • Delightful Diamond-In-The-Village Apartment Near Everything La Jolla!

"Our best stay when visiting San Diego for a yearly business conference! Will DEFINITELY stay here again!! For 2 adults, it's a perfect size. Good-sized kitchen, comfortable living area, a small-sized bathroom BUT it works for us, outdoor patio AWAY from the busy street, laundry facilities on property, and your own garage (the deal breaker when we were researching rentals!) The property sits next to a pub and the noise from there was not too bad. The people on the next property were quiet so that didn't bother us. The only suggestion we'd like to see the next time we visit would be to place a thick cushion on-top of the futon bed to make it more comfortable. We are a very active couple who surfs, paddle boards, runs/walks during the day and a more cushiony bed would be ideal. The unit has no A/C so I'm not certain we'll be visiting during the summer months, but hopefully will return during the not-so-hot times in SD!"

  • Beautiful condo with ocean view and near LaJolla's offerings

"This is a beautiful condo with an amazing view overlooking the ocean, one block away. It has a sleek, contemporary feel and a very modern, well-equipped kitchen, It is in a lovely quiet residential area that is in easy walking distance to LaJolla shops, restaurants, churches, and recreational areas. The king bed is a memory foam and very comfortable. It is nice to have laundry facilities on site. Cable TV and wireless Internet are available in the main room and in the bedrooms. Booking was a bit confusing and disorganized but we finally made it happen. We were met at our condo the evening of arrival by Chelsea, who made sure we were into the condo without questions. She also was available for questions and concerns. There were a few inconveniences, mostly the fact that the garage “wasn’t working” and we had to park in an extremely small spot in the rear of the building. This would take two of us to manipulate getting the car back out and down the driveway. It also meant that we couldn’t access the elevator (as promised when booking) with our heavy bags or with groceries. Other issues: there is a pocket door to the master toilet/shower area, that is crooked and nonfunctional. There are no lamps in the living area, just overhead lights, so reading at night has its challenges. It would have been nice to have two sets of keys when my husband and I had separate agendas during the day. This especially became a problem when we locked the condo doors when we departed, as instructed on the directions left for us. It turns out the manager didn’t have a separate set of keys to get in. Fortunately what I thought was a locked door in the rear of the building was actually still unlocked, so she was able to get into the condo. Despite some of the inconveniences, we would be most happy to stay there again! PS…We needed to depart in a bit of a rush to help babysit for our nearby grandchild. It turned out that I left some laundry in the washing machine. Chelsea most graciously dropped it off where we were sitting!!"

  • Absolutely Beautiful Vintage Property

"We spent a week at this lovely home over the Christmas / New Years time frame. The location is fantastic, with in walking distance of everything in the Village of La Jolla. Getting down to the oceans edge and walking by the tide pools takes less than a minute. And yes we did see the whales that migrate that time of the year. One of the best features is falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the surf. What beautiful views!!! The home is well cared for and the owner goes out of her way to make your stay very comfortable. We felt very privileged to have been able to experience this exceptional property. We will stay here again when we return to La Jolla if the property is available. Probably at the top of our experiences with VRBO properties."

  • Good house for extended family

"My family stayed here for Christmas week. The upstairs had doors we could close, ideal for our bunch of noisy kids. Even with 14 people, there was plenty of hot water—no cold showers! The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and the linens were nice. Although, a bedroom suite on the main floor was awkward as you had to pass through another bedroom to enter it or use its separate exterior door. The location is okay. The street is busy during the day but quiets down at night so you can sleep. The grocery store and many other shopping locations are five-minutes away. The beach due west has nice sand and isn't crowded. The kitchen has a lot of supplies, but they are scattered, so you have to hunt for things. The upstairs apartment has no fridge or stove, just a toaster oven, a microwave, dishwasher, and wine cooler. We would have preferred a stove and fridge, especially since there is a space for them. Including them would make this second story apartment ideal as a stand alone rental. When we arrived, we found that the property had not been cleaned adequately, but, we contacted the property manager and they sent someone out the next morning and cleaned again and got it right. Also, the property is showing wear and needs some attention. For instance, the leather sofa cushions have spots that are worn and should be replaced. There are also a lot of dings in the walls that should be patched, and there are some areas that need touch-up paint. That being said, it is a good property and one that our family would rent again for a big family gathering, provided the wear issues were addressed and it was clean upon arrival."
