  • Perfect for our family

"This condo was just right for our family of seven and provided a perfect spot for our spring break getaway. You just can't beat the location as it is close to shops, an easy walk to the Cove, and a quick drive over to La Jolla Shores. Parking is underground and it is a bit of a pain to lug everything up and down the stairs. We actually had to unload some bags from the rooftop basket on our car since the clearance in the garage is so low. It was a minor inconvenience and when we got inside we found the condo to be even more spacious than we imagined and the layout perfect for our family. We used both king sized beds, the blow up mattress, and the pack and play and had plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The communication from the time we booked until we checked out was great. The owner was responsive and we received our damage deposit back in a very timely manner. Everyone in our family had a great time and we all agreed that we would be back again. Thanks for the great stay!"

  • Absolutely Beautiful Vintage Property

"We spent a week at this lovely home over the Christmas / New Years time frame. The location is fantastic, with in walking distance of everything in the Village of La Jolla. Getting down to the oceans edge and walking by the tide pools takes less than a minute. And yes we did see the whales that migrate that time of the year. One of the best features is falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the surf. What beautiful views!!! The home is well cared for and the owner goes out of her way to make your stay very comfortable. We felt very privileged to have been able to experience this exceptional property. We will stay here again when we return to La Jolla if the property is available. Probably at the top of our experiences with VRBO properties."

  • Loved it!

"This place was among our favorites of the last few years. Pros: View. Look out the back windows at the beautiful pool, beyond that you see the wonderful downtown of La Jolla, and beyond that you see the ocean. Pretty spectacular. Sunsets - WOW! The home is well-maintained and the owner was a great guy eager to show us around. Close to tons of great restaurants and the beach. Cons: None. We loved it. Had a great time and would highly recommend it. It was particularly fun trying to figure out who the people in the pictures on the wall were (hint - they are famous and they are the family of the owner)."

  • Good house for extended family

"My family stayed here for Christmas week. The upstairs had doors we could close, ideal for our bunch of noisy kids. Even with 14 people, there was plenty of hot water—no cold showers! The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and the linens were nice. Although, a bedroom suite on the main floor was awkward as you had to pass through another bedroom to enter it or use its separate exterior door. The location is okay. The street is busy during the day but quiets down at night so you can sleep. The grocery store and many other shopping locations are five-minutes away. The beach due west has nice sand and isn't crowded. The kitchen has a lot of supplies, but they are scattered, so you have to hunt for things. The upstairs apartment has no fridge or stove, just a toaster oven, a microwave, dishwasher, and wine cooler. We would have preferred a stove and fridge, especially since there is a space for them. Including them would make this second story apartment ideal as a stand alone rental. When we arrived, we found that the property had not been cleaned adequately, but, we contacted the property manager and they sent someone out the next morning and cleaned again and got it right. Also, the property is showing wear and needs some attention. For instance, the leather sofa cushions have spots that are worn and should be replaced. There are also a lot of dings in the walls that should be patched, and there are some areas that need touch-up paint. That being said, it is a good property and one that our family would rent again for a big family gathering, provided the wear issues were addressed and it was clean upon arrival."
