"I thought I struck gold when I found Bruce's cottage on VRBO, but realized quickly it was really more like DIAMONDS. Everything about the description is 100% accurate - you have to pinch yourself when you get here. La Jolla is awesome and the cottage is in the perfect part of town, on the quieter side but an easy walk to the village. We kayaked, snorkeled, hiked Torrey Pines, bet on the races at Del Mar and chilled. Class AAAA Vacay."

"Our family of 6 had a wonderful time. The house is located across the street from the beach, so our family had nonstop around the clock, instant access to the beach. Although there were other beach goers, the number was considerably less than more publicly available beaches, so it never felt crowded. After the beach we all loved coming home in the evening and going into the hot tub, or just relaxing in the beautiful back yard/garden. The house is very well furnished and easy use, it has obviously been very well maintained. It was an easy walk to most of what we needed or wanted to get to in La Jolla, so the car didn't get much use. At night my wife and I loved being able to go to sleep to the sound of the surf, it was a fantastic place for our beach vacation."

"My husband and I stayed with a group of our closest friends and could not have been happier. The house is beautiful and the amenities are fantastic. The most important part for us was the warm welcome we received by the owner and the family. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and flowers and told if we needed anything that all we had to do was ask. We were "checked-in on" once over the course of our 3-night stay which made us feel as if we were part of the family staying in a relative's home. The close proximity to downtown La Jolla was a huge plus and the home itself is majestic and "homey" at the same time. The amenities are wonderful and I would highly recommend this place to anyone interested in having a relaxing time in an environment that feels like your home away from home. Two thumbs up!"

"A bunch of friends rented the whole house for a long weekend to go watch the Bears game.
The house was perfect since it had 7 bedrooms and it was 7 couples..great location, close to shops, restaurants..we seriously didn't even move our rental car. Very clean and had pretty much anything you would need. Great view as well. Would definitely recommend this place!
There was only ONE thing that was a bit annoying..the house has three parking spots and if you have more cars you need to park in the street because there is another home behind..which is perfectly fine, we were aware we only had those three spots, one being inside the garage..we however were tailgating the day of the game and needed to load the stuff before taking off so parked in the driveway to load up and the lady in the back immediately came out to tell us to move. Again that was fine we had no problem doing it, it was just the way she said it..she had an attitude as if we didn't do it or were bothering her. She was just rude. Besides her attitude towards us everything else was great!"
