  • FANTASTIC PROPERTY FOR AN AMAZING PRICE!!!

"Let me start by saying that I will definitely be staying here again and I found my San Diego area place to stay when in town. The unit is big and in great condition, the appliances are nicer than what I have at home, there is a nice big TV in the living room with cable and DVR, and, last but certainly not least, you can see the sunset on the ocean from the balcony (the profile pic is the balcony view and during our stay that piece of the ocean was where the sun set :) ). If you are not happy enough watching the sunset from the balcony, the unit is one very small block back from the ocean and takes a minute to walk to. When you walk to the beach, you go down a few stairs and you are on a beautiful sandy beach with two point breaks on either side. The beach is long enough not to be crowded at all and one of the points is the legendary Windansea surf break, so there is no lack of talented surfers to watch as you enjoy the sun and sand. Back at the condo, there is a large private back patio with a nice gas grill. The second night we were there we grilled up some steaks and made chili on the state of the art smooth electric range. Then the wife and I sat down to the dinning room table and enjoyed our dinner with a delicious bottle of wine that the owner so graciously gave to us! After dinner, we played monopoly (provided) and watched a couple of movies that we had DVRed on the comfy pull out couch in the living room... it was one of the best wedding anniversaries that we've had, thanks to this superb listing! Parking was perfect, right in the driveway of the condo, and the condo is located close to the shops and restaurants in La Jolla. However, I recommend ordering some pizza and garlic knots from Pizza on Pearl, which delivers to the condo. The WiFi was great, a washer and dryer were available to wash clothes, and there were even boogie boards and bikes available to use. It seems that the owner has really thought about everything we could have needed as each time the wife and I thought about something, sure enough, the condo had it. As for the noise issue that the one 4 star rating discussed, we never at anytime noticed any noise from the unit above and we know that people were there as we saw them walk into the unit. I'd be surprised if noise is ever an issue at this sleepy condo. Overall, an extremely beautiful and comfortable place to spend some quiet time in heaven!!!"

  • Fantastic Stay!!!!

"My family spent a week at Windansea Beach house in early May and had a wonderful time. The location was fabulous, the house was clean and the price was awesome for being in La Jolla. Joe was waiting for us when we got into town, showed us around the house and gave us some great tips concerning things to do/places to eat while in San Diego that were not "tourist traps". The home is very kid friendly and having Joe supply a Pac & Play along with a high chair was a huge plus! There was one VERY minor issue that took place during our stay (it was out of Joe's control) which he addressed IMMEDIATELY. We are already planning an adult only trip back to La Jolla and will stay here again! Eric, Julianna & Blake"

  • Picture Perfect

"My family of 5 stayed just finished our vacation at this lovely home (Feb 2015). The 3 well sized bedrooms and 2 updated bathrooms were perfect for my husband and I, and our 3 teen-aged kids. The living room and dining area have a great view of the ocean. There is a beautiful and sizeable yard (by CA standards) for you to use and it even comes with a few fragrant fruit/advocado trees. The kitchen is new and well appointed, but have to be honest and tell you I did not cook a single meal while here (it was vacation afterall. Lol). The beach is a short walk away (couple of blocks). There are also several restaurants within a block, or two, of the house and we visited each of them. The lovely town of LaJolla (North) and Pacific Beach (South) are 2 lovely towns just a couple minutes drive away in either direction. La Jolla has many great stores, boutiques and restaurants and has a classier, more refined and expensive feel to it. Pacific Beach is more of a hipster, beach town which also has great food, and stores...just a different vibe than LaJolla. The house is clean, stylish, bright, fresh and updated. You will love this place. The owner was helpful, prompt with communications, and very easy to deal with. HIGHLY recommend this place. Wish we had more vacation days to have stayed longer :)"

  • Wonderful visit!

"We came to San Diego to visit family and to escape the Ohio winter for awhile and we found the perfect place! The cottage is spotlessly clean, bright, well- furnished and with a fully stocked kitchen. A private parking space is a nice bonus. And then there's the location! You're a block away from a gorgeous beach and walking distance to the village with a wide choice of great restaurants and shops. We also enjoyed walking to the public library and the Sunday morning farmers market! And La Jolla must be the best location in Southern California; it's an easy drive to Balboa Park and downtown, also not far from the desert, great hiking at Torrey Pines State Park. The cottage is surprisingly roomy, as a couple we didn't feel cramped at all. Special thanks to Cathleen, the manager, for keeping the place in such good shape and for being such a great resource! We highly recommend the cottage and would definitely stay here again!"
