"Elegant old La Jolla home in a great location that is a two minute walk to La Jolla Shores beach and a 10 minute walk to downtown La Jolla. The home has a great layout, providing three separate areas for gathering (western lawn and deck, living & dining areas and the large eastern patio), so the home never feels crowded and easily handles friends and family gatherings. The home has great views from the deck and patio, and I found myself quite content to sit on the patio and gaze up the coast for hours. While it's near a busy road, it's far enough away that road noise was never an issue. It's also far enough away from the main beach and downtown that parking is always plentiful and the neighborhood is quite quiet. There's a hidden beach access path 200 yards from the house, next to the Marine Room restaurant, and we used this access to go snorkeling with leopard sharks in front of the Marine Room, and to walk north toward the pier to go surfing and boogie boarding. We also walked into town a number of days and evenings for the restaurants and galleries - taking the Coast Walk trail to avoid the streets and enjoy the incredible views. A beautiful, relaxing and well located home - and it was a pleasure to pretend it was ours for a week."Guest: NorCal Joe Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 4, 2014View listing
"My family spent a week at Windansea Beach house in early May and had a wonderful time. The location was fabulous, the house was clean and the price was awesome for being in La Jolla. Joe was waiting for us when we got into town, showed us around the house and gave us some great tips concerning things to do/places to eat while in San Diego that were not "tourist traps". The home is very kid friendly and having Joe supply a Pac & Play along with a high chair was a huge plus! There was one VERY minor issue that took place during our stay (it was out of Joe's control) which he addressed IMMEDIATELY. We are already planning an adult only trip back to La Jolla and will stay here again! Eric, Julianna & Blake"Guest: Eric K. Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: May 14, 2014View listing
"We stayed at this home for 7 days in August. While the home and property are beautiful and the furniture comfortable it was extremely uncomfortable because of the heat. It was 85 on average at midnight which made our stay a bit of a drag. They did provide us fans, however, that just pushed the warm air around in the bedroom. The woman whom we spoke with said there was a nice breeze and no need for air conditioning but that was not true. Other than that the stay was nice. The home is in a quiet neighborhood that is close to everything."Guest: Dominguez Family Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 2, 2014View listing
"The location is about 1/2 block to the beach. The cottage is nicely appointed and very comfortable for a couple. There is also sofa bed for guests. I have stayed in the cottage many times and expect to rent it in the future. In the winter it is quiet and feels very private despite the area being chockablock other homes and cottages. Very nice."Guest: Roosting Snowbirds Date of Stay: December 2013 Review Submitted: March 5, 2014View listing
