  • Nice, comfortable, quiet

"Stayed in this condo for a week. Furnishings are nice, great location. Best for older guests, as the neighbors prefer quiet, early to bed visitors. Had a great time!"

  • Great location with old La Jolla charm

"Elegant old La Jolla home in a great location that is a two minute walk to La Jolla Shores beach and a 10 minute walk to downtown La Jolla. The home has a great layout, providing three separate areas for gathering (western lawn and deck, living & dining areas and the large eastern patio), so the home never feels crowded and easily handles friends and family gatherings. The home has great views from the deck and patio, and I found myself quite content to sit on the patio and gaze up the coast for hours. While it's near a busy road, it's far enough away that road noise was never an issue. It's also far enough away from the main beach and downtown that parking is always plentiful and the neighborhood is quite quiet. There's a hidden beach access path 200 yards from the house, next to the Marine Room restaurant, and we used this access to go snorkeling with leopard sharks in front of the Marine Room, and to walk north toward the pier to go surfing and boogie boarding. We also walked into town a number of days and evenings for the restaurants and galleries - taking the Coast Walk trail to avoid the streets and enjoy the incredible views. A beautiful, relaxing and well located home - and it was a pleasure to pretend it was ours for a week."

  • AWESOME home in La Jolla!

"My family and I just returned from a week's stay at this fabulous property. We have three teenagers, so space is very important. Each kid had their own room with their own television and their own bathroom. Can't ask for much more! However, there was more! Full kitchen with utensils which overlooks the fabulous outdoor dining area and pool. House is perfectly clean! Washer/dryer, swim towels, everything was there. Our kids walked to the beach every day. My husband and I walked to a coffee shop in La Jolla each morning. There is a great den with huge tv and stereo that was a popular place to hang out. Everything was convenient to this beautiful home!! I can highly recommend it!"

  • 3 Generation Spring Break

"Our family has travelled fairly extensively with this being our 3rd home rental in the last few years (Orlando, Maui being the others) - so we have some basis for comparison. We have been to San Diego a few times in recent years and were looking this year to do a stay with our parents and teenage daughter in La Jolla. I saw this house last fall and thought it to be the perfect fit, but it was booked for the week we wanted. Imagine my surprise when one cold January day in Canada, we found that it was now available for our March dates.... There are many nice-appearing places in La Jolla, but nothing that seemed as perfect as this one, so we jumped on it when it came open. Very glad we did. All the good stuff has already been said... Location, location, location. Perfect for the beach, for access to down-town La Jolla, and for a quick trip to SD. The front deck and back courtyard give you all the options you need. Glass of wine or brew on the deck for sunset. Coffee in the courtyard in the a.m. when it is a little cooler in front of the house. I always find it helpful to read the worse reviews also, to get a different sense of what you are stepping into. I suppose that if a high-end hotel is your point of reference, you will find issues. There might be a little dust on a fixture in the corner somewhere, or a piece of caulking that needs replacing in a shower, or you might not get a matched set of wine glasses, but for us this stuff is trivial. Everything you need is there. It is such a dream to have a cold drink over the fire on the front deck, enjoying the view of the palm trees, the surfers and the waves breaking. I truly had that feeling you hope to get on vacation (but seldom do), where you can forget about the other stuff in your life and just enjoy a perfect moment in a perfect day. We had a couple of these moments. Regarding the property management, I didn't get to meet Brant, but we traded emails as necessary, and there was never a problem. He was very attentive and responsive. For newbees, I strongly encourage you to contact the property manager if you have any problems. We fretted over stuff on one of our other rentals (in Maui) for a few days, then called. In that case, the stuff was fixed in an hour once we called. Brant was equally keen to make the experience here positive whenever something came up. We'll be back!"
