"We have stayed at Riata Palms several times now and it's the perfect get-a-way for us. The pool and grounds are the best for taking in the desert and the night sky. The views up to Indian head and the surrounding mountains never get old. I love the BBQ and cooking outside, it's the perfect set up...and eating on different patios depending on the weather that evening is nice. The house has just the right amount of space, feels like a hideaway without being cramped either. The kitchen is well appointed without being fancy. The kids loved the addition this year of the ping pong table. The casita is perfect for extended family or friends that want to join your escape to the desert. We have always had great interactions with the owner and it's easy to rent. The town of Borrego has just enough of the essentials and surrounding desert is great to explore without have sooo much to do where you don't have enough time to just enjoy the pool at the house. Riata Palms has become our home in the desert for sure. When the pool is sparkling clean and the sun is out, that is my happy place."

"This vacation rental is a perfect base for a stay on Coronado. Just 10 minutes from San Diego Int. Airport, a quick water taxi ride to downtown and the BEST part is - you are ON the island where a ten minute bike ride will put you at the Del Coronado (go for happy hour!) or the wide, sandy beach, or the shops and restaurants along Orange Ave, or those along the bay (any meal at Tartines is a treat). We gathered our family of grown children there for Christmas week and had a wonderful time! The house is furnished tastefully and the kitchen is well appointed for meals at home. The lot may be small but is private and has outdoor space both front and back. Put your car in the garage for safekeeping then select a bike from the 8 on site. The bikes are in good condition and the owners provide locks so you can bike into town or the beach and then keep them locked while you explore or sun. Three have baskets and there are two grocery stores just blocks from the house. Tooling home with wine and cheese definitely says "I'm on va-ca!" Beach towels, quality linens and abundant crockery and glassware make this house a gem. The only down side is - a week goes by too quickly!"

Wonderful location, not so wonderful furniture, but that's the only small problem!
"This site includes a very private and quiet place to stay in La Jolla. You can truly walk to a lot of things. Great parking nearby. Not much to look at outside the condo back door but the rest of La Jolla is outside. The furniture (although it states that it's new)all appear to be worn and shabby chic/ beach used. The beds were okay... In December we needed the heat and that was difficult to modulate. Otherwise clean and nice. Would love for the owner to put new cooking pans in the unit, as they were completely torn up. Still, would stay here again!!!"

"Stayed 7 days in this comfortable vacation home with young kids. The view is incredible, the beach is easily accessible and loads of fun for kids, great for walking and playing in the waves, and watching the surfers early morning. Having access to beach chairs, boogie boards, pails and shovels much appreciated. Pool was very quiet (perhaps weather was too cold for locals but just fine for us Canadians!) and clean. Day trips to LegoLand and Safari were great, but by far best time was hanging with our kids on the beach. The residents were very nice and welcomed us to the neighbourhood, chatting with us, giving us tips on where to go, and letting our kids play with their dog.
Living room and view are definitely the highlights. Bedrooms comfortable and spacious. Bathrooms sufficient, and having laundry (with detergent on hand even!) was much appreciated.
Thank you for sharing your home with us- we hope to return again!"
