"Our experience in this lovely little cottage was perfect from the very start. Dealing with Bob through the booking experience was a dream. He was very quick to respond with all my enquiries which is very reassuring when booking from Australia.
The cottage is located in my opinion in the most prime location in La Jolla Shores. As said in previous reviews you have a myriad of the best restaurants and coffee shops within a one minute walk from the front door. Also the beach is located within a couple of blocks. The cottage is the best equipped I have ever encountered in a VRBO stay. Beach umbrellas, beach towels, beach chairs etc are all there for your use. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked with everything you could possibly need, plus lots of pantry items that you don't need to buy. The bed was super comfortable with the best quality linens.
The 2 bedrooms are completely private with their own bathrooms so was perfect for our group of two couples. At the end of the day we would sit out on the front patio watching the crowds of beach goers heading home with the masses into the traffic jams, and here we were, already settled for the day knowing that when the crowds had gone we could just stroll to our choice of restaurants as it was amazing how much quieter it became once the crowds had left! Mind you we were here the week before 4th of July so a busy time for sure!
When we could drag ourselves away from this gorgeous cosy cottage, we were in easy commuting distance of anything you want to visit in San Diego. PLUS we had our own parking space which was a huge advantage in this popular area.
If ever we come back to San Diego I would not hesitate for a second in staying here!
Thank you Bob for sharing your cottage, we loved it...Thanks so much!"

Great house with a pool close to the beach and village!
"We adored our stay in Carlsbad! This beautiful bungalow is within walking distance to everything! You won't need to move your car once you get there! My husband and I and our 3 kids stayed for a full week! Having two bathrooms and the outdoor shower were awesome! We used the built in BBQ three times and it was awesome. We had a little trouble starting it the first night and got help from the mgmt. company. The bungalow is beautifully decorated. We were happy with the AC and that there was a Keurig! There were plenty of towels and a washer and dryer. We brought our own detergent and used the laundry as needed! The train station is close and we loved keeping the windows open at night. The noise from the train only bothered us the first night and then we got used to it. One loud train came through in the middle of the night, so if you are an extra light sleeper, just know this. We used the Coaster for a day trip to Petco Park and it was awesome! The garage had 4 beach chairs, and 2 mini toddler beach chairs, an umbrella, two coolers, a volleyball net, sand toys, and three small boogie boards. There were also some toys for the amazing pool! The pool water was a little cool but great for summer! There were hoses set up to rinse off after the beach and a beautiful green yard with comfy lounge chairs and chaises for us. The outdoor shower came in handy many times! The sofa sleepers were comfy to sleep on....comfier than sitting on them. Wifi and cable were great and we brought our Chromecast to stream movies and Netflix (it poured rain the first two days!) Wonderful restaurants nearby! The beach has the perfect waves and we were 10 min from Legoland! We had a wonderful week. My favorite feature of the house was the split doors so you could have the top open and let in the great weather, and even listen to the rain! I say bring your own pillow from home, but everything you need is there! Very nice owner and easy to work with property manager. You have to take all of your garbage and recycling to the management company when you leave but it is only a short block away. The beach was a farther walk than anticipated, but we managed to walk with all the chairs, umbrella, towels and ice chest!"

"Lovely beach-front home on the bay, very quiet (except for our last day when a neighbor was doing some sort of jackhammer project, but that was no fault of the home!) just a quick walk across to the ocean side and Belmont Park which was filled with spring break revelers. Lots of fun to visit that scene and then come home to our quiet beach. We had adults and teens and it was a great location for everyone. We did surfing lessons just across on the ocean side, went to the zoo and Disneyland, and kayaked in LaJolla's sea caves. Lots to do! Owners super responsive and checked in on us even during their own vacation."

"All I can say is WOW! Everything the other reviewers said is true plus so much more! We usually try stay in Mission with extended family every 4th of July. We gather once a year for a reunion of sorts. San Diego is perfect for us since the family is spread all over the west coast. This little house is amazing and represents a very distinct 'old school' California style. As a matter of fact, I met the owner (super cool) who said he wanted to keep it that way as long as he lives and wishes to pass it along to his kids and grand kids. It's a very rare and unique property especially for a rental. The house has any and everything you'd have at home plus extras! Outside you'll find an almost 360 degree patio (fenced with a folding swing bench!) In the front yard you'll find a gorgeous porch with plenty of room for guests to relax and plus there is another swing bench that seats three adults! You'll find three bikes, seven or eight boogie boards, gas and charcoal grills, an outside chiminea and plenty access to the house from almost every room! Inside you'll enjoy and indoor gas fireplace, fully stocked and updated kitchen, durable hardwood flooring, flat screen 'smart tv', entertainment system, etc. Not that you'll really need any more indoor entertainment being so close the beach and bay! Once you grab groceries and get settled in, you may not drive again your whole stay. With two parking places in your personal driveway, that should be no problem. Ralph's is about a mile away and far cheaper than the multiple mini-marts in the area. Our family had so much fun, we can't wait to come back!! We are a little more than two hours away from SD in the dry, hot desert, so we're planning to come back as much as possible! If you're coming to San Diego, stop looking and book this place now! And yes, the property manager Corey and the owner Gary are very timely, professional and amazing at what they do!"
