One of the Best Beachfront Vacation Homes in Mission Beach
"We were looking for a vacation home that could accommodate teenagers, parents and grandma. We found it at Gull's Rest. The property was spacious enough to host two families and grandparents. The kitchen was well stocked and all the appliances worked well! Having all the bedrooms were upstairs made it really quiet when someone wanted to nap during the day. The great window that looked onto the beach allowed us to watch the bodysurfing teenagers from the house on cool days. There were plenty of beach towels for swimmers and throw blankets for the spectators. The two patio tables easily accommodated our group at lunch and dinner times. We grilled on the very nice gas grill most nights. On one mild evening, we were able to roast marshmallows for s'mores on the beach right in front of the property. The beach chairs came in handy for this and other beach activity. We rented bikes and cycled up to La Jolla for lunch. The kids practiced surfing at The Wave center located just a short walk down the boardwalk. It was a short drive to Scripps Aquarium and the San Diego Zoo. Some of our group even went to Disneyland for a day during our stay (1 1/2 hour drive one way). We had walkers and joggers in our group and they were happy being able to run the beachfront & bayside boardwalks. We were able to get our Toyota Landcruiser in the garage but it did take one extra person to guide it in. The driver had to crawl out of the window to get out of the car but it was worth it because parking is a challenge in the area. We were able to get a shorter sedan in the garage, behind the Landcruiser. You can't beat the lovely ocean sounds, cup of coffee or refreshing cocktails on the large patio. We were entertained for hours watching the colorful people pass by. Even our computer game nerd was happy with the internet connection and yet was lured to the beach for frisbee and boogie boarding. We hope to make it back in the fall or winter. If you are looking for a great place to spend a week or more. This is it."

"We stayed in one of the top floor units, 4005 I believe. Clean and exactly as depicted in the property's overview. We've stayed in other houses in Mission Beach but this particular location along Ocean Front Walk is perfect. From here, everything is in walking distance, even Ralph's which we visited 4 times for un-thought-of necessities. #2 bedroom has its own TV, which I wish we had in the master :( just for wind-down time at night. The kitchen is well-stocked. We had most of our meals in and I wasn't left needing any type of utensil or pan/bowl. The bathroom is clean with a good shower. We had neighbors who were polite and enjoyable to talk to. I compare lodging as best as I can and this unit was very fair in price. The spectacular things about this house are the location and view. If the house provided other "incidentals" that we've had in other places, like bath towels, maybe some pantry items, beach chairs we could borrow, laundry that isn't coin operated, that would have been very nice. Though the bedding is fine, the beds were uncomfortable, sorry. I thought they would be fine at first because ours was very soft. But, no. Even my kids had trouble and my son chose to sleep on the couch. The bottom line- we truly enjoyed ourselves and loved our week's stay. Just wanted to give a bit of feedback on the big and little things. It helps me when I'm looking for a place to stay. Also, Elise is very quick to respond to anything."

"This is a adorable bungalow has it all! Large patio, charming decor throughout the house, bikes, boogie boards and beach toys available for use throughout our stay, spacious kitchen, barbeque, on site laundry, and lovely grounds. A nice very short walk to the beach and bay where we saw dolphins and seals.
Very comfortable living area and dining areas - inside and out. The street was fairly quiet and location was ideal for our family of four. Tess is so great to work with and very responsive. This was our second stay at the Bikini Bungalow and we definitely plan to be back!"

"We stayed for a quick weekend and the Sandcastle was perfect! The private deck and amazing view made you feel like you owned the place. The location was clutch, very close to a ton of little cafes and shops. We enjoyed the activities at the Sandcastle nestled on Sail Bay, complete with beach cruisers and stand up paddle boards. We can't wait to visit again next year! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!!"
