"Our family stayed in Stephen's home in Encinitas for two weeks in June 2015. Everything about the home and property was gorgeous and better than expected. The photos do not do it justice. The outdoor kitchen is gigantic and has a lovely view. The house is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed (there is no microwave and we did not find a DVD player). The property itself is a magical wonder. You can wander around the lush gardens and possible never sit in the same place twice. It was like being the only family in a luxury resort in Indonesia. Everything is quality and well cared for. The house is very private, even though Stephen's home is also on the property with a separate driveway. During the rental process, he was swift in responding to questions and easy to communicate with. The 50-foot pool is amazing and the temperature was welcoming. There were plenty of pool toys for our family to enjoy--we sat poolside on several days and everyone was happy. It is the perfect place to get away while being close to the beach and San Diego. We would definitely go back."

Superb For An Intimate Family Reunion - 32 people, 4 nights, so many rooms, so much to do, excellent
"We recently had our first ever family reunion. There was a total of 32 of us (17 adults, 4 teenagers, 11 kids age 1-9). Utilizing the two guests houses, everyone had a room (the kids loved the bunk beds). We stayed for 4 nights and ate most of our meals in the estate (we hit the Costco in Temecula on the way down from L.A.). The kitchen in the main house is perfect for large groups with plenty of seating and tables outside.
There is so much to do here (pools, trampoline, movie theater, etc.) that our biggest problem was when we planned events away from the house (San Diego Zoo Safari and the Midway Aircraft Museum), nobody wanted to leave.
I highly recommend paying a little extra to have some of the ladies come and do some housekeeping and prep in the kitchen during your time there. We bought carne asada at Lilac Foods and they helped prepare an incredible taco dinner for a fraction of the cost of going out. The homemade salsas were amazing.
The stadium seating in the huge theater is perfect for getting the whole group together. And the game room is just ridiculous. Probably stayed up too late every night because there was so much to do.
I highly recommend this enormous palatial estate. Friendly people. Extremely clean. We couldn't have asked more for our first family reunion. If I can convince everyone in my family to fly in from all over the country again, we'll definitely be back."

"I usually don't write reviews, and this one is long overdue - but I was looking back at photos from our wonderful trip back in April 2014 (I had to submit this as a 2015 review but it was in 2014) and realized that I should submit a review, as a thank you to Brent for his wonderful hospitality.
The condo has a great location within a very quiet and secure complex - just a short drive away from some beautiful beaches, and a short drive to downtown Del Mar. And if you don't feel like driving, the beach is easily accessible by walking down a long staircase from the complex.
The condo itself is clean, spacious and comfortable - there is a big comfortable couch for lounging and watching TV, a large dining room table to accommodate many guests, and a beautiful, upgraded kitchen that is well stocked. The condo has a great layout if you have children - the bedrooms are on one half of the condo, on either side of a hallway - so they can nap or sleep early while you still hang out in the living room/kitchen area. The beds were comfortable and the master bedroom was large enough for us to take an extra mattress and put in on the floor so our daughter could sleep with us while our friends slept in the other room.
One of the best features of the condo is the view from the living room deck - and the small sectional on the porch, so you can drink your coffee or glass of wine while listening to the ocean or watching the dolphins.
This condo has everything that I could have wanted in a beach rental - a designated parking space, washer/dryer, well appointed kitchen, comfortable beds, and a comfortable place to lounge at night - along with a great view of the ocean, walking distance to the beach and a swimming pool. The swimming pool was great.
To top it all off, Brent was so responsive and courteous - it was very easy to book the rental, the instructions for obtaining the keys were clear - and he and his wife (and their cute little dog) were so nice and friendly. I definitely will stay here again the next time I'm in San Diego."
