  • Cozy and Convenient

"This townhome offers tons of convenience - from location (ideally situated between La Jolla and Coronado) to all the thoughtful touches the owners put into it. There were tons of amenities and it is very clean. It's a five minute walk to the beach and is located in probably once of the friendliest neighborhoods in SD. My only concern was the noise from the air traffic. Normally this wouldn't bother me, but I had to be on a few conference calls while there and the air traffic was easily picked up by my microphone. If I didn't have to work while there, it wouldn't have bothered me at all. All around a great place and I would definitely stay again!"

  • First time in OB, AWESOME time!

"I grew up in San Diego, but never made it to Ocean Beach, believe it or not. We stayed in this unit for 8 nights and loved it. OB is a great place. Laid back which we enjoyed much better than the party atmosphere of Mission Beach. This house is amazing. Growing up there I know that some beach houses can be pretty run down, but this place is great. Very updated and very clean. It is also very private which is hard to get on the beach. Pictures do not lie, you are about 30 seconds from sand. Tons of places to eat in walking distance. The beach, pier, and tide pools are all great and right there. Yes, the airplanes do start around 6:30 in the morning, but after the 2nd day you are very used to it and while they did wake me up with first plane, I was always able to fall right back to sleep. Air traffic stops at around 11pm so no issues sleeping. We vacation in San Diego about every 2 or 3 years and we have found our place to stay. We will stay here again. Also, after your stay, whatever food you have left please think about bringing to any of the several churches within walking distance instead of throwing away as they help feed the homeless."

  • Wonderful time in a lovely home, great community!

"We traveled to SD in mid August and were very pleased with the home, location, and owners’ response. Our stay was relaxing and very enjoyable. We came midweek to transition our daughter to her dorm at SDSU and enjoy some quality family time as well. It was great that everything is truly within walking distance with some lovely restaurants, a fantastic beach, fun shops and lots of interesting and friendly locals. The first morning we were suddenly awakened by the sound of jets flying above, but the following days we quickly acclimated. The afternoon heat however was a bit too much for us. The AC runs well in one part of the house only and by evening the bedrooms are too hot to sleep in, although the beds are very much comfortable. When home during the day we tended to stay in the one room with air conditioning, and the only working television. The TVs in the bedrooms did not work, but that only meant more family time so not a worry. Overall, this is a lovely home. We really enjoyed the Jacuzzi and being close to the beach and having everything within reach in the community. Viewing SeaWorld’s great fireworks from the upper deck on Saturday night was an added benefit. The owners were very kind and available for any needs; they were gracious in letting our family have a late checkout to spend just a little more time in SD with our daughter. We would definitely consider returning in the future, maybe not in the heat of summer, and I would highly recommend this home for others that want the convenience of a cozy home in a great location."

  • Very good on the whole

"We stayed at this home for a month, and loved some things, weren't crazy about others. The good: If you have dogs, you are right near the dog beach. We have two dogs and had a blast just walking out the back gate and onto the beach every day. Also, the surf was wonderful and the weather couldn't be beat. Ocean Beach was recently voted the best community in San Diego. It is thoroughly walkable--I rarely took the car anywhere. The people are very friendly, and the town has a "character." Also good -- the house was very clean. It is laid out nicely and has plenty of room for 4-5 people. The owner left us some nice treats to start off our vacation. The bed was comfy, the towels and linens nice. The bathroom was beautiful, with a wonderful shower. The decor was lovely as well, and there was a beautiful yard with a fire pit and a gas BBQ. There are boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella, bicycles--lots of stuff to make your stay even more fun. The not so good: Ocean Beach, and particularly this location, lie right under the flight path for the San Diego Airport's departures. This means lots of airplane noise, starting around 6 a.m. and continuing until around 11:30 p.m. The house had a few minor annoyances, such as poorly installed dishwasher and stove, and a very uncomfortable couch. I think that these things would not bother anyone staying for a week or less, but after a few weeks, they can really grate on a person."
