  • Great place to stay in SD

"My husband and I have stayed here twice now, and both times found this home to be welcoming and comfortable. An added bonus is the fact that we could bring our two small dogs with us. So much nicer than when we have stayed in a hotel with the pups! Here we don't have to worry about getting dressed just to take them out in the morning - there's a nice little back yard that they can go into while we sip coffee in our jammies. :-) The location is a bonus too, close to everything but tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. No noise, no concerns about maid service letting the pups out, just a nice relaxing visit. Thank you, and we will be in touch for future visits, I am sure."

  • Perfect for Combining Business and Pleasure in San Diego!

"I registered for a large conference at the convention center and decided to take some extra time to enjoy San Diego. We did not rent a car, but that was no hindrance to our enjoyment of the area. We took a comfortable walk to Balboa Park to enjoy the zoo one day and then enjoyed Coronado Island another day. There are some terrific restaurants close by - Taka was a great sushi restaurant that I would highly recommend. If you like Italian cuisine, try Asti Ristorante. If you are an IPA craft beer lover, do not miss the Coronado Brewing Company if you visit the island. The unit was outstanding with an incredible view of Petco Park. If you are a baseball fan, you will not want to miss sitting up in the "bleachers" on the roof. The Padres were in town during our visit and it was a very unique experience. The unit is very clean and well-equipped. It is perfect for two people, but it was not bad the three people in our party. The owners were outstanding, providing good communications before and after our visit. They provide a welcome letter chock full of information in advance of your visit. There is a small balcony that was perfect for enjoying coffee in the morning and wine in the evening...nothing like enjoying the sounds of the city! We did not use the BBQ grills on the rooftop patio, but it certainly was a popular activity. Check in was very good - the unit manager met us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the unit and the building amenities. The unit is a tremendous value in the heart of beautiful San Diego! I would give it my highest recommendation and will certainly recommend it to friends and family that plan to visit San Diego."

  • Perfect for Conference Accomodations!

"A colleague and I attended a conference at the Sheraton on Harbor Island in February. We like to have some distance from the actual conference hotel, so we looked around for alternative places to stay. I stumbled upon Mauna Aloha and inquired. Amos responded almost immediately and even called to make sure I got through the reservation process. He was perfectly clear in how to communicate with him when we arrived. We flew to San Diego on February 17th. I called Amos to tell him we had landed and he drove to the airport to get us! Who does that? We stayed on the Mauna Aloha for four nights. The beds were so comfy and the rooms were perfect. We spent a lot of time on deck sitting at the table chatting and enjoying the harbor. There were plenty of hotels and a little market nearby, and taxis to go anyplace were regularly driving down Harbor Drive. The yacht stay was perfect! Word got out at the conference that we were staying on a yacht. People were so jealous. When I told them the yacht was less expensive than a sterile hotel room at the Sheraton, they were convinced. I hope Amos and Shari gets lots of reservations for their boats in the future. I highly recommend this fun place to lodge."

  • Lovely in spring

"So enjoyed our week at the Moana house. Thank you for opening your home. View from the deck was great (and just as pictured), and we grilled out almost every night. House was clean and spacious with tons of room for our group (6 adults 2 kids). Thoughtful updates in many spaces. Kitchen is dated but decently equipped, with lots of prep space. Neighborhood was quiet. Close to everything we wanted and made our week relaxed and easy. Thank you!"
