  • Gorgeous Property

"I have been traveling to San Diego for 18 years and have always stayed in a hotel. That will not be happening in the future. The pictures do not tell the story of how beautiful this property is and how kind the owners are. My husband and 1 year old daughter stayed there this past trip and had such an amazing experience that we will hopefully be renting this location for years to come. The work that they put into the gardens is stunning and smell incredible in the evening. They also have 3 dogs that greet you at the gate whether your are coming and going. One of the puppies even comes to visit and loves to play ball. If you have small children its perfect because they have a locking gate on the porch so you can leave the door open and the children can play on the porch without being able to wonder off. The couch pulls out to a bed and they put an air mattress on there that is very easy to inflate every night if you decide to fold up for extra space. The cottage has a homey feeling that makes you never want to leave!"

  • Perfect for Combining Business and Pleasure in San Diego!

"I registered for a large conference at the convention center and decided to take some extra time to enjoy San Diego. We did not rent a car, but that was no hindrance to our enjoyment of the area. We took a comfortable walk to Balboa Park to enjoy the zoo one day and then enjoyed Coronado Island another day. There are some terrific restaurants close by - Taka was a great sushi restaurant that I would highly recommend. If you like Italian cuisine, try Asti Ristorante. If you are an IPA craft beer lover, do not miss the Coronado Brewing Company if you visit the island. The unit was outstanding with an incredible view of Petco Park. If you are a baseball fan, you will not want to miss sitting up in the "bleachers" on the roof. The Padres were in town during our visit and it was a very unique experience. The unit is very clean and well-equipped. It is perfect for two people, but it was not bad the three people in our party. The owners were outstanding, providing good communications before and after our visit. They provide a welcome letter chock full of information in advance of your visit. There is a small balcony that was perfect for enjoying coffee in the morning and wine in the evening...nothing like enjoying the sounds of the city! We did not use the BBQ grills on the rooftop patio, but it certainly was a popular activity. Check in was very good - the unit manager met us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the unit and the building amenities. The unit is a tremendous value in the heart of beautiful San Diego! I would give it my highest recommendation and will certainly recommend it to friends and family that plan to visit San Diego."

  • Perfect for Conference Accomodations!

"A colleague and I attended a conference at the Sheraton on Harbor Island in February. We like to have some distance from the actual conference hotel, so we looked around for alternative places to stay. I stumbled upon Mauna Aloha and inquired. Amos responded almost immediately and even called to make sure I got through the reservation process. He was perfectly clear in how to communicate with him when we arrived. We flew to San Diego on February 17th. I called Amos to tell him we had landed and he drove to the airport to get us! Who does that? We stayed on the Mauna Aloha for four nights. The beds were so comfy and the rooms were perfect. We spent a lot of time on deck sitting at the table chatting and enjoying the harbor. There were plenty of hotels and a little market nearby, and taxis to go anyplace were regularly driving down Harbor Drive. The yacht stay was perfect! Word got out at the conference that we were staying on a yacht. People were so jealous. When I told them the yacht was less expensive than a sterile hotel room at the Sheraton, they were convinced. I hope Amos and Shari gets lots of reservations for their boats in the future. I highly recommend this fun place to lodge."

  • The best accomodations we have had so far in San Diego

"The apartment was just as pictured on line. it was immaculate and had everything we needed; including the bag of coffee that was left as a gift for us. The owners couldn't be nicer; they responded immediately to our phone calls on 2 minor issues. The location is perfect; Balboa Park out front and Mission Bay views from the kitchen and bedroom. The cross breezes kept us cool and comfortable. We liked having a parking space under the building. The neighborhood has an urban vibe with excellent restaurants within walking distance; a café for breakfast on the next corner, and Little Italy just a longer walk away. Friendly neighbors and those who use the park for dog walking, exercise and lots of fun activities. Balboa Park is really cool. It was easy to participate and be active. This was our longest stay and it was worth it."
