Terrific Place with genuine Old-Style Glamor in La Jolla Shores
"So glad we stayed here! Its near UC and Scribbs, and less hectic than the shopping and museum district. We were two couples on holiday, and this very private 3 bedroom suite, mediterranean-ranch compound was calming and beautiful. Centrally located, yet easy to get anywhere, we just went a few blocks down the hill to the beach for a lovely dinner. Its a 20 minute walk and a great workout on foot. The gated compound is perched on a level green hillside with no steps, and no immediate neighbors. The view is an unobstructed 180 degree panorama of La Jolla Cove, from an elevation of 200+ feet. There’s a wall of glass in the oversized and open living and dining rooms, and the view is basically filled with blue ocean and puffy clouds. Evening light glowed from the village and the stars, and looked just perfect from the comfy 9’ couch. There’s four separate areas of outdoor space to relax in, a lovely tiled heated pool in a central piazza for gatherings; the grassy knolls were perfect for wine or lounging, and good for seniors, kids, or pets. The master suite was oversized with direct pool access; the hall and entry was gracious with a silk cover settee and lovely marble topped bureau. It has antique and international decor throughout, in a quiet palate. The kitchen/small family room combo opens onto a nice fenced greenbelt. There’s art, linens, dining sets and cookware, a fireplace, and a washer/dryer. Just did not want to leave…it was relaxingly beautiful."

"We stayed here as a family of four with two young children (3 and 4). While I've been to Mission Beach many times, this may be the best place we've stayed. It was the perfect place, the price was great for the view that you have. John was very easy to work with and extremely responsive. I'm hopeful to stay here for years to come."

"We've never stayed right on the beach.... and will never be able to not do this again!
Linda's condo is the perfect location: 2nd floor allows for the ocean view, but privacy from the traffic on the boardwalk.
It is a small condo, a little dated, but the price is great for the location!
It is right on the boardwalk, but not too close to the crazy party scene by the restaurants. (All of that is within walking distance if you want it though!)
We had our 3 children with us (16 - 23 year olds) so having the 16 year old on the couch was not ideal, but it worked... she has a blow up mattress, but he didn't like it.
Sharing one bathroom was never an issue.
The unit provides covered / locked parking across the alley - nice this for the bikes we rented and to keep the rental car in the shade when we parked.
Linda and her maid where prompt to get us a few things we needed upon arrival and were more than accommodating and courteous!
There is no air conditioning, but a fan in each bedroom which we needed at night. It also drowned any activity late at night on the beach/boardwalk. We needed a fan for our son in the living room, so we went a bought one for him the 2nd night.
Linda has a pile of sand toys, 3 beach chairs (2 are comfy) and 4 boogie boards. We used them every day!
There were a few things I wished I would have known upon arrival (in the paperwork...if it was, I missed it!)
1. Parking: we have to get into the condo first to get the garage door opener. We arrived after midnight so we spent a bit of time trying to find the parking space outside the condo. Once we got into the condo, we found the paperwork that explained how it worked with the garage across the alley.
2. There is a window that opens above the door to allow for a cross breeze with the patio door open on the other side of the condo. (We didn't find this until the last day- we usually just had the door open when we were home)
3. Sand on feet. There is a tub by the door to fill and place outside the door to rinse your feet before entering. (we didn't know what this was for until another tenant had one sitting outside their door) We did a lot of sand sweeping!!!
Mirror in the bedrooms (preferably near an outlet)
There are a lot of mirrors in the unit, but none in the bedrooms for getting ready.
Bikes: we rented bikes for 2 of the days for all 5 of us. This was a blast! I know some of the condos have them, we thought this would have been a nice perk!"

"Came to San Diego for a little my weekend to escape the Arizona heat. This apartment was amazing. Clean, roomy, comfortable as if we were at home. It is centrally located with easy access to I-5. Enjoyed our stay very much😃"
