  • Family Vacation

"Beautiful home and loved the yard! We have a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old so the yard was clutch and the space was great! Kitchen was beautiful! Sleeps as advertised, as long as everyone minds sleeping together in the same room. All 4 of us slept upstairs and you could fit (comfortably) another Family of four downstairs. Just the facts: some poor paint touch ups, cable service was disconnected half way through or stay and not reinstated, I think if you drew a line from the take off runways of SD airport they would literally coincide with this home. Planes begin taking off at 630am and don't stop until about 11pm. My 3 year old loved it! We, not so much! Great location, close to Sea World; could see the fireworks every night (except for that damn tree in the way!). Probably 8-10 min walk to the beach. Great restaurants close in Wonderland and Pizza Port. We drove to Mission Beach and Belmont Park which was literally a 2 min drive. Be careful of parking down there as it is limited! Went at noon on Saturday and found nothing! Went at 9am Sunday and found ample parking. Just saying! In summation, beautiful home, great location, plenty of space, wish the planes weren't an issue! Great service by the Family for our stay, sans cable discontinued, but we didn't mind too much! Really only a hassle when we woke up and couldn't put on Disney Channel for the kids! Great parking at the house. Driveway big enough for probably 4 cars. All in all, we would definitely return...if we could some how divert those planes?! You're not sleeping past 630 or 7 in this place. As much as that pains me to say because the experience was great! But hey, get up and go for a walk or read the paper or get moving! You're on Vacation! Don't waste it in bed! Cheers!"

  • Excellent stay

"perfect get-a-away location. The owner lived close by, so when there were questions he was quick to respond and even drop by. Quick walk to the private beach. Great for family / kids! The big deck was great play area for kids, and the spa was a nice touch for the adults in the evenings."

  • An amazing experience. No surprises. Had everything we needed and more. Will come back.

"This was our first experience on VRBO so we were hesitant. This is a great place to say and its priced right. Communication from this owner was superb and we had no confusion, no surprises. The unit was very clean, quiet, security gate, just overall enjoyable. We rented a car so having the garage was awesome. The owners are friendly and accessible (we didn't have any issues or questions but they were around if you needed them). Had a few nice chats with them and if you needed info about the neighborhood or touristy stuff they were very happy to help find what you needed. There were several units in the building and all clients are very good, quiet, friendly, etc. The Golden Hill Café was pretty cool, very retro but great food, great price, super friendly staff and less than a block away. A nice bakery and small grocery place for everything you need. Highly recommend this place and although we like to try different places we would be back here the next time we are in San Diego."

  • Business trip

"I had a last minute business trip to the San Diego convention ctr area last week. Hotels were booked nearby so I found this cool property on VRBO. Normally I would use VRBO for vacations but this worked out perfectly. I paid a reasonable nightly rate and was in walking distance to the marriott and convention ctr. Ira and Jacques were extremely accommodating."

San Diego County Travel Tips

The coastal community of San Diego is the second-largest city in California. Originally, the area was inhabited by the San Dieguito and La Jolla Native American tribes before it was established as the first European settlement by Spain during the mid-1500s. The city has experienced substantial growth since its founding, and has changed hands between Mexico and the U.S. throughout its extensive history.

Located approximately 120 miles south of Los Angeles, this shoreline community rests along the the U.S.-Mexico border in southern California. San Diego experiences a warm climate throughout the majority of the year, with most of the annual precipitation falling between December and March. Winter weather is mild, and temperatures rarely drop down to the freezing point. Visitors should pack light, with a few pairs of shorts, sunglasses and a bottle of sunscreen, and possibly a light jacket or sweater for twilight chills or day trips near the Pacific.

Oceanfront Activities

With its close proximity to the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean, the city of San Diego boasts a wealth of waterfront activities and tourist attractions. The subtropical climate presents comfortable conditions for visitors interested in spending a day or two enjoying outdoor excursions and the natural beauty of the area.

- SeaWorld San Diego is an adventure theme park that features a wide selection of thrill rides, animal encounters and engaging performances. Get your adrenaline pumping on the steep drops and arching curves on the double-launch Manta roller coaster, or enjoy an interaction with dolphins and other creatures of the deep that call this park home. Acrobatic aquatic performances feature the talents of numerous marine-dwelling mammals, who launch themselves high into the air and engage in death-defying stunts that will surely take your breath away.

- The beaches of San Diego stretch out on 70 miles of pristine coastline and offer guests the opportunity to lay out over white sands and soak up some California sunshine. Join locals in a game of sand volleyball at Mission Beach or compete in the sand castle competition at Imperial Beach in the south bay. Ocean Beach is nestled between the San Diego River and the rolling hills of Point Loma, and often presents prime conditions for surfing, swimming and other waterfront frivolity.
