  • Beautifully decorated, comfortable apartment

"This apt was beautiful! Robert and Alev obviously took great care in decorating it and also in supplying everything needed for a comfortable stay. Robert met us upon our arrival and gave some great advice on sites to see and where to go for eating out. The garden in the back was beautiful, but unfortunately it was too cold out while we were here to enjoy sitting out there. Would be a pretty spot to have your morning coffee or afternoon cocktail though! Parking may be a hassle if you are renting a car (we did), but if you get there after 6pm on a Friday, you won't have to move the car until 10am Monday morning! The Muni busses were everywhere, so if you didn't have a car you'd have no problem getting around. The Presidio is literally right across the street, and there's a lot to see and do there. We went to Fort Point, which was very interesting and has a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge. You can also walk to the bridge from there if you should want to. (Just to mention - we had thought we'd rent bikes to ride over the bridge, but decided to walk it instead and were glad we did. The biking side was very busy and it looked like it would be a hassle to stop and check out the view or take pictures because of being in the way of other bikers. Walking was definitely the way to go!) After Fort Point, we lucked out and caught a food truck extravaganza in the park! (Most Sundays. Across from the Disney Museum) Food, music, beer/wine, and lots of people hangin out and havin fun! There are steps (LOTS of them) leading to an awesome view just to the left of the street this apt is on. Worth doing if you don't mind the exercise! Ask Robert or Alev for directions. If you want to have an excellent dinner out, try Meze's on Chestnut St. Great Greek food and wonderful service. We were going to go there Friday, but it was very crowded (as were most places), so we ended up going on Sunday, which was perfect. I would suggest eating at the apt. on Fridays because everywhere had long waits. Had breakfast one day at Mel's Diner. Don't bother. Overpriced and not very good. I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone wanting to be in a quiet neighborhood. We also stayed in a rental in the Corona Heights/Castro area, which was much busier and had more going on, but we were glad we did both! This one was at the end of our vacation and was the perfect way to relax for the last few days."

  • The Perfect Escape!

"My family wanted to do something completely different for Christmas this year and our son, who lives in L.A., needed to get away from all that! My husband is not a fan of snow, so when we saw this property listed we knew this would be the perfect place for us. And, indeed, it was! There is nothing to do in this gorgeous environment, but relax and drink in the beauty, the simplicity, the charm of a lovingly restored, preserved farmhouse with a history! The welcoming environment was heartwarming. Everything we needed was provided -- even a sweet miniature Christmas tree, complete with lights! (Thank you, Susan.) We felt at home, inspired, healed, renewed. The beach is right across the street and a short walk up the hill gives an amazing view of the water. Our dogs loved exploring the property and snuggling in front of the incredibly efficient wood-burning stoves. We could not have dreamed of a more perfect place to spend a completely restful holiday, just the three of us (actually five including our doggies) with no demands, no stresses, only beauty and the love that fills this home."

  • A delight

"This is a truly special home. I feel like "the pictures don't do it justice" is especially true of this home. The master sleeping loft, living room, kitchen are both beautiful, cozy spaces and are also full of beautiful workmanship and touch. The area is breathtaking, the home special and private, and the outdoor shower after a dip in the stream a gret way to start the day. Margaret was lovely to interact with. A great home and great value."

  • Great spot next to Chinatown and Little Italy!

"We had a great time at the 3BR apt. It was an excellent location, and an easy walk to Union Square (where we were attending a conference). It is located in a great neighborhood, with lots of bars and restaurants, and extremely close to any Chinatown or Little Italy location. The apartment was spacious and well-maintained, and the rooftop porch was a nice spot to get a view of the neighborhood. Because we were a party of 5, we were concerned about there only being one bathroom in the apt. However, this was a nonissue--the toilet and shower were in separate rooms, which made it relatively easy for everyone to get ready in the morning. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and appliances, which was great for making breakfast in the morning and the occasional meal at home. Would definitely recommend, and hope to return soon."
