  • Charming, warm, and welcoming

"The apartment is charming, roomy, and warm. It is filled with period details such as a claw foot tub, mouldings, stained glass, and a fabulous vintage range. Karen, the owner, has it adorably decorated to reflect its location in the bay area. She has thought of everything to make one's stay comfortable....premium select toiletries, towels and sheets, kitchenware, WIFI, cable TV, a selection of coffees and tea, and even hot chocolate for those chilly Bay Area nights. Upon arrival I was greeted with a vase of fresh flowers picked from her garden and a basket of lemons she harvested from her tree earlier that morning. The house where the apartment is located is surrounded by the most beautiful English garden, a perfect place to enjoy one's morning coffee. She provided a notebook with recommendations for local restaurants and attractions. The apartment is a short walk from the Bay, the Webster Street area, and the BART shuttle. Karen was very easy to work with, communicated clearly and promptly. I would stay again there in a heartbeat and plan on doing just that!"

  • Better than in the photos / Great if you are a woman, a visiting scholar

"This place was all I ever dreamt for as a home away from home. I loved sitting on my sunny yet shady mini-deck so much it was difficult to tear myself away for sightseeing or to go to the office. But if you do go out, you are minutes away from the famous Cheesboard, and all the other restaurants, shops and zipcars in the area. The studio has everything you need to be comfortable, provided in a tasteful and quiet way, and a few touches of elegance, with no clutter. The owner is very welcoming and attentive and made me feel at home right away. If you like to work at home, like I do, you will appreciate the good sized table that can be used as desk, the fast wireless, bookshelf, and the french windows that open wide to your own secluded garden."

  • Enjoyed family vacation!

"The Sausalito Butterfly house was just as described with wonderful bay views in a quiet neighborhood. It was very comfortable for our family of 5 and a great location for exploring the San Francisco area including Muir Woods and Napa Valley. Owners were very responsive and an added plus was the very well equipped kitchen."

  • Great choice and great location

"The unit is well maintained and spacious. The host is really great and willing to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We unfortunately had to change our plans because of our sick 2 year old, and the owner was super accommodating. The location is great. There are some good restaurants, a coffee place, a giant park, and the BART within walking distance. The ride to SF is only 15 minutes on the BART. We are really happy that we chose to stay here instead of a hotel. I would definitely stay here again and I have already recommended a friend to stay there."
