  • Roomy and Convenient

"The Sunset Flat was a wonderful, convenient place to stay while two of my sisters and I were in San Francisco visiting my son. It's in a wonderful area right across the street from Golden Gate Park. It's right around the corner from Andronico's Market which we loved walking to for anything we needed for eating in. There were also a lot of wonderful local restaurants close by for eating out and it was convenient to public transportation when we were ready to head out sightseeing. Tay is very easy to reach by email or text and very prompt in getting back to you. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely house and hope to be able to revisit again in the future!"

  • Stay here if you are visiting San Francisco

"This apt is a great place to stay if you are visiting SF. The pictures don't really do it justice. It's spacious, extremely clean, and has lots of extras such as magazines, books, premium cable channels, thick towels/washcloths, great showerhead, etc. David and Karen also greeted us with a nice bottle of wine and a fruit basket! The home is modern where it counts yet still has many of the original Victorian touches. This was our first time in this wonderful city and we wanted to see as many sites as possible. Staying in the Haight was great because everything was easily accessible. There is a gourmet market very close to the apt on Haight St. We also shopped at the Lucky supermarket which is a short bus ride away. The prices are really good at this supermarket. We walked from the apt through Golden Gate park and got to see the AIDS Memorial Grove on the way to the Academy of Science. The bus is one block away and connects to other buses, trains, and trolleys. I highly suggest purchasing a City Pass if you plan to see the sites. If going to Alcatraz, get the City Pass from their site. You should also make a reservation for that tour before getting there. The City Pass contains a transit coupon that's good for 9 days from the date you put on it and can be used for all types of public transportation. To be honest, none of the trolley/bus drivers even looked at the date, just the pass book. David was a great host and very helpful! We truly enjoyed our week in SF including experiencing tremors from the Sonoma earthquake a few hours before we left to go home!!!"

  • Great apartment, great view, great location

"We, 2 couples, rented the apartment for 7 days. We were very impressed with the place, it's furnishings, it's location and most importantly it's fantastic view of the city. Just one small, tiny constructive criticism, the apartment had great new modern appliances except for one item which is very dear to coffee lovers. With the addition of an Espresso machine, the apartment would be perfect."

  • A perfect home-away-from home

"We recently spent 3 nights at Sierra Street. While we would echo the praises other reviewers have given, we would like to add a few comments of our own. We arrived after a busy day spent in Santa Cruz, so were quite tired when we first entered the apartment. However, we were greeted by the sweet smell of the prolific lemon tree as we walked up the stairs to the flat. We were awake enough to notice what a beautiful place it is and felt extremely welcome by seeing our favorite breakfast offerings already in the fridge. After going out for dinner we returned to the flat and collapsed into the comfortable beds. The next morning we began to notice all the details that have gone into creating a 5-Star accommodation (we would give it 6 stars!) Arun and Suzy have designed the perfect living space…spacious enough to (more than) comfortably accommodate the four of us, and easily six people. The two bathrooms are beautiful and the high quality of the showers, tiles, flooring, etc reflect the panache and style prevalent throughout the apartment. The kitchen has everything one could want—and more so, and the laundry room has modern and efficient machines and plenty of space to sort clothes. The living room is elegant, but comfortable, an often rare combination. Everything from the light switches to the window blinds have been done with great attention to detail. And, of course, the two balconies with their beautiful views are a delight. We have only one regret: we wished we could have stayed longer! Thank you so much, Suzy and Arun, for letting us stay in your gorgeous apartment…we certainly know where to go whenever we return to Berkeley. An an extra 'thank you' to Suzy for baking delicious cookies as a birthday treat for me."
