  • Lovely, well-cared for home right in the heart of the village

"We loved this vacation rental. It is very clean and well-furnished, and it is right in the heart of the village of Dillon Beach. It is very well suited to people with dogs since it has dog-friendly floors and furniture. The interior of the house has recently been re-painted; it’s quite lovely and has nice artwork on the walls. The kitchen had everything you need to make meals (great pots and pans, sharp knives, etc.). The kitchen table seats 4. The living room is equipped with a large, comfortable leather sofa (seating 3-4) and 2 wooden chairs (so, that room seats 5-6). The house has both a front and back deck. The front deck has a pretty good ocean view which is also visible in the house with its huge front windows. (Some homes in the village part of Dillon Beach don’t have a view at all, so we appreciated the view.) The back of the house has a much larger furnished deck with a fence that is about 3.5 feet tall. We had large dogs with us, so we kept them on leashes: they’d easily go over a short fence (one jumped it immediately). A very small (Chihuahua-sized) dog could escape through the gated picket-fence area. However, for us, it was just fine with the leashes. The two other DB homes we’ve rented didn’t have a back yard at all, so we were genuinely happy to have the space and privacy. It is a plus and one more thing we liked about the house. Since the house is in the village, it is a very short walk to the beach (unlike homes way up on the hill, which generally require a car drive down plus an $8 gate fee to get on the beach). The house is a short walk from the convenience store and a cafe, too. Having stayed at Dillon Beach for the past 4 Thanksgivings (and having camped at Lawson's for many decades before that), I would definitely recommend homes in the village for convenience. For those who haven't been to Dillon Beach, it is a wonderful destination. Well-behaved dogs can go off-leash at the beach. If you stay at this or any house in the village, you can pop over to the beach several times a day. We like to walk through the beach to the marina and walk back through the campground. We rent homes quite often and would definitely recommend this home to small parties (2 couples or a family of 5). Again, it is well-suited for people with dogs/kids, and that made it a great fit for us – and it will again in 2015. Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us."

  • Anniversary Getaway

"This was exactly what all the reviews mentioned!!! The views were amazing! The house was very clean and comfortable. Such a cute adorable home, cozy little sitting areas through out the home. We enjoyed the hot tub and the outdoor sitting areas! Loved everything about the cute home! We will definitely be returning again(next time for more than 3 nights). So, sad when it was time to check out. P.s. - Linda(housekeeper)was so kind and friendly!"

  • Amazing sunsets

"We were fortunate enough to arrive during a January "heat wave". Crystal clear skies, no fog, mild temperatures. The cottage is quaint, with an open floor plan. Both bedrooms and the bathroom are downstairs and it was cold down there. The heated toilet sets was a nice touch in the middle of the night. The rear deck is great for watching those sunsets. The abalone shell on the picnic table is to hold cigarette butts, should have been cleaned so non smokers didn't have to smell it. I was immediately taken back by the poison ant bait on the kitchen counter. We didn't see any ants, so if there were some maybe put the bait in a cabinet or in a nook on the floor. The pots and pans were sad. Missing or very loose handles, greasy and sticky. This morning, we got locked in. The deadbolt wouldn't unlock. My husband had to jump a fence to get to the front door, couldn't open it. He came back over the fence and took the lock off. Inside was a piece that had broken off. Dillon Beach is one of the only beaches in Marin County that allow dogs off leash. We appreciate being able to take our dog. It was a nice stay. The place is well equipped. Those sunsets make the stay."

  • Perfect for my Professional Staff Retreat

"Brad and Beverlee really made the process of acquiring their home as a professional retreat site very easy. They were patient, but most of all very helpful throughout the process. They were swift to communicate and provided all the necessary information on time. The actual location was peaceful, close to the beach and provided the perfect atmosphere for work and team building. The proximity to the beach, made for great activities, the hills and calm pathways made for good early morning runs and the cozy house made good late night conversations. The kitchen made it easy to cook group meals and we could not have been happier."
