Peaceful location, wonderful 'home', but stairs a challenge
"My sister and I stayed here for four days in August. The home was exactly as described in the information and as shown in the photos. The manager and owners were accommodating, sending clear instructions on how to find and enter the home, arriving with a bottle of wine when (through no fault of their own), the city had the water off for 30 minutes. The home is near shopping and interesting drives, easily accessible off the main highways and roads.
Our only concern were the stairs. What is not mentioned in the information or in any reviews is the fact that this guest house is above the garage. Normally that would not be a problem, but in this case the stairs had no guard rail and we were using it as a place to spend time with our 85 year old mobility challenged father. We managed to get him both up and down the stairs, but we were very concerned each time as any misstep would have meant a dangerous fall. We are actually surprised that the stairs passed the building code as we were even concerned going up and down them ourselves.
Other that the stairs, this is an excellent property."

"We chose Yvetot for a girls getaway and birthday celebration, and it was paradise! The setting is lovely, the location perfect for the activities we chose (we highly recommend the tour and cooking class at the Point Reyes Farmstead), the layout of the living area ideal for cooking and conversation. We were drawn to the playfulness of the kids room and enjoyed an old school slumber party with two of us happily in the upper bunk. And don't miss the outdoor shower -- a delight unto itself, and even more so with a cold beer after a long hike! We all agree that we can't wait to return and thanks to Mike for sharing this slice of paradise."

"We had a small women's retreat here in July of 2015. It was such a beautiful and peaceful location, with lots of nooks and crannies for time by yourself or hanging out with a group. The grounds as well as the house itself were all beautiful. We really loved all the spiritual art and warm colors in the rooms. The kitchen was full of everything we needed to cook some amazing meals. We enjoyed the hot tub under the redwoods at night. Feeding and interacting with the sweet chickens was nice, too. There were some hiking trails easily accessible on foot from the house, and we also walked to town once for a quick look around. I also liked that we were encouraged to recycle and compost--this demonstrates great respect for our ecosystem. Alisa was really accessible and helpful when I had questions or needed recommendations. Charming, peaceful, and special! I highly recommend it."

"My husband and I and the dog stayed at this great cottage for 10 days after dropping our son off in SF for college. Susan and Jim and the cottage lived up to their 5 star reviews completely. Our dog (30 lb mutt) loved the fenced in backyard and checked out the koi every morning. He is a country dog and appreciated the quiet of the neighborhood when we were gone, but loved our daily walks ALL OVER the neighborhoods in the hills. There were days that we walked as much as 6 miles up and down admiring the charm of the houses and different landscapes. It was a perfect place to return to after day trips to SF, Tiburon, San Rafael, Wente Vineyards and even Carmel and Monterey. On days that we were less adventerous, we loved the Solano district and neighborhood around the Berkeley campus for shopping and eating and appreciated how easy they were to get to.
If we drive there again and bring the dog, this would be the place that we would return to. We would highly recommend this lovely oasis!"
