  • Family get away

"This was a great place to get together with the family. Very relaxing and not too far from the beach."

  • Fantastic, tasteful apartment in central San Francisco

"What a great place to stay. You cannot go wrong if you choose this great apartment sight unseen like I did. What strikes you most is all the great interior decorating that has gone into the place. Mainly earth tones but the living room and dining have a lot of burnt orange with black and white artwork and it looks really good. Also there is a BBQ deck off the kitchen and then another garden right off two of the bedrooms where there are Japanese maples growing. We also went up to the top floor to the roof garden which has great views. The apartment has a large kitchen with a huge subzero fridge and a European dishwasher. It also has a washer and dryer so that was great. We met the owner Patricia one evening and she was very nice and she had earlier sent up a "places to Go List" which was very helpful."

  • Soothing Sounds of Surf

"This is the perfect getaway to experience the soothing sounds of waves crashing on the shore at night. Enjoy the glorious view of Muir Beach and the Pacific Ocean as the sun rises and sets each day. The apartment is simply perfect overall and has a nice tall bed for viewing the ocean and shoreline while waking up. The living room had windows that showcased the beach and water below and opened up to allow you to enjoy the fresh air. The kitchen is perfect for two and has a small but real refrigerator (a big plus!) with a separate freezer adequate to store enough food for a week especially if you want to just hang out and eat in which we did for a couple of days (our do nothing but enjoy the view day). No microwave but we used the toaster oven to reheat leftovers. There was a good amount of condiments and other goodies left by previous visitors but bring some of your own just in case. The cooking utensils/linens etc are more than adequate for preparing meals. The propane BBQ is a big plus! Access to the beach is on the road below the house (yes you do have to walk up steps to get to the vacation home from your parking space). From the road it is a short walk down and back up again with nice views on the way. The new parking lot to Muir Beach is a short drive just past Pelican Inn which we recommend to eat and drink for a lunch. Muir Woods is only minutes away via Muir Woods road but plan to visit before 9am to avoid the crowds. Once you get familiar with the meandering roads (that’s part of the adventure!) the surrounding areas offer great experiences all within 20 miles from this dream vacation house. We stayed for ten days so we were able to visit Muir Woods, Mill Valley, Stinson Beach, Bolinas, Point Reyes, Marin Headlands and Tiburon and even just stayed home as well. We enjoyed a cool view of the Golden Gate and the wondrous city of San Francisco from Horseshoe Bay area. We stayed away from SF but it is close enough to drive to. Finally we could not have wished for a more gracious host with Misti. We really felt like we were family. We will visit this special place in the future!"

  • Donna

"Beautiful home. Even nicer than the pictures. Very roomy. Lots of pots/pans, dishes, etc. Fabulous to have a garage! Great neighborhood and close to everything. However, sleeping 6 might be difficult since each bed sleeps two, a queen, pullout sofa, and trundle bed."
