  • Loved this place and the surrounding Noe Valley Neighborhood!

"We absolutely loved the NOE NOOK FLAT and the surrounding neighborhood and it accommodated our family of 4 nicely. The Style of the place was awesome, being historical in nature but modernized with amenities. The surrounding neighborhood is great for exploring and we felt safe walking around at all times day and night. It was conveniently located to 24th Street where you have a multitude of local businesses including Pubs, Grocery Stores, Eateries, Bakeries, etc. The larger flat on level 3 easily accommodated my wife in the master room and my kids on the futon in the extra room. Theres is a nicely sized central kitchen and then a separate living room with amazing view of the area out a Victorian Style Bay WIndow. If you have a larger group you can get the Level 2 Flat and have the entire Flat. The larger Flat that we stayed in comes with use of the single car garage which for us was great so we could park for 2 days safely and use the public transit system (which we were very close to I might add). The master bed has a double sided fireplace that goes to the Living Room (but enclosed glass buffer on both sides) so if someone is sleeping on sofa in living room or watching tv late you may have a slight compromise of privacy. Not a deal killer but my only criticism was the futon sofa. Once setup it was great but it was extremely hard to setup (and I am an Architect and supposed to be able to do these kinda things). If it would have been setup upon our arrival it would have made life a little easier as we almost had to call the property owner (and it was late at night). I would definitely come back to this place in future and maybe get the entire place next time! Thanks for the memories!"

  • Honest Advertising

"This delightful place was exactly as advertised. Quiet, spacious, clean, fully furnished, tastefully decorated including 5 star towels and bedding. The courtyard was a wonderful place to overlook while having morning coffee. Very close to public transportation and a garage if you happen to be driving. One caveat, SOMA is a quickly changing area. This home is located in a neighborhood, not a tourist hub. For me, it was not the least bit dangerous/intimidating. However, the area does have some street people. In SF you'll encounter a wide social/economic spectrum of residents. SOMA like Union Square include that wide diversity. As previous reviewers have mentioned, Glen and Otis are very accommodating without being intrusive. They truly are excellent hosts."

  • Fantastic getaway

"We have stayed at the Mermaids House 7 times in the past 8 years and absolutely love it. It is the perfect getaway. Very comfortable, very elegantly appointed but with a very cozy warm feel. The kitchen setup is easy to use and we always cook when we are there. The view is gorgeous, sitting on the deck is so peaceful. Being out over the water is the best. We love it every time regardless of the weather or time of year. The owner is very helpful and gracious. We plan to continue to visit there at least once a year."

  • Nob Hill's Finest

"I stayed here with my wife as an alternative to an over-priced hotel for my best friend's wedding. What a great decision. The apartment is located in a classy elevator building that is within a few minutes walk to Union Square. There is also a convenience store in the basement of the building that has just about anything that you could possibly need (food, beverage, sundry supplies, etc.). The apartment itself is not particularly large, but it manages to pack in everything that you need in a clean and tastefully decorated package. There are a ton of windows, so you get ample sunlight, but there are also some very fancy shades that can provide privacy in the daytime and can be closed completely for darkness at bedtime. The owner was easy to communicate with and very patient with me with a number of last minute questions (owing to my distractions with my best man duties for the wedding). We unfortunately did not have time to do any substantial sightseeing, but I have been to SF before and this apartment is ideally situated as the perfect jump off for an adventure. The only drawback was that the lock on the door to the apartment took a few tries to get right, but I always seem to have this issue when traveling (probably just me). Check this place out, you will not be disappointed!"
