  • 2nd stay at this home, had a great time

"We have stayed here before and really love this house. The fishing is great off the pier. We caught fish all weekend including several large bat rays. The Hog Island Oyster company is right down the road. The home was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. You just can't beat being right on the water."

  • Good - not great this time

"Second time for staying at the very cute Elephant Studio. Last year at this time was our first stay and what a perfect time we had. . . the place is tiny and delicious. Best part - the awesome secluded and protected sunny deck. The studio itself is small - that's OK - one should expect that. We didn't mind the coziness at all. But shouldn't an equipped kitchen at least have at least a couple of drinking glass or wine glasses? Two plastic champagne flutes doesn't really cut it. . . drinking wine from a coffee mug is OK but not great. . . and maybe a toaster oven or plain ol' toaster? And the relentless deep barking of a sweet looking HUGE dog next door detracted from the oh-so-perfectness of the deck. Either the next door owners were not home or hard of hearing because the dogs (2?)- either inside or on the deck - barked a lot! (but not at night, thankfully). The Murphy bed is OK but squeaky due to the odd piece of plywood at the head of the bed - we found that a towel placed between the wall and the piece of wood helped a lot. We most likely will go back again because we love the deck, the view, the setting - practically on TOP of the water and did I mention that deck? so private and protected - even on a very windy day we enjoyed sitting out there grilling some oysters because we were warm and cozy. (if only the dogs would be quiet. . . )"

  • Can't beat the view!

"I would give this house a 5 star rating except that it is a bit outdated, especially the kitchen. Cabinets need painting and they don't open and shut well. That said the house was very clean and contained most of our needs. We loved the bedroom, it was very romantic, as it opened up to the beautiful front gardens and to the hot tub. The front part of the house (living room, sunroom and kitchen), and, of course, the deck have a marvelous view. We loved sitting outside on the deck at sunset. We did have a little problem with launching our kayaks from this house. We had to lift them over the deck fence to get them to the ramp and launch them. As it turned out, we would have been better off to use the launch down the street and kayak to the house. The launch is within walking distance. The other problem with the kayaks was that we had to keep them on the ramp at night because had we just tied them up, and left them in the water they would have slammed against the pilings that the house is on. There's not enough beach to tie the kayaks onto a beach. This, of course, is no reflection on the house. I'm just mentioning it to prepare any other people who might want to bring their own kayaks. It's expensive, but it might be easier to just rent kayak down at Blue Water kayaking which is very close to the house. We did enjoy our stay very much."

  • Wonderful Bay Front Cottage!

"This is a wonderful relaxing getaway cottage. Very comfortable furniture, comfy beds, however I ended up sleeping on the window couch every night it was so comfy! The windows all face the bay and amazing views. Wildlife surrounds this cottage and lots of different bird species. We took our 93 year old mother who is in a wheel chair and this cottage is fully accessible into and on the bottom floor, with a full bathroom and master bedroom downstairs, it made it very convenient for her to stay. The stairs are a bit frightening, very steep and narrow, you must use caution. We used the hot tub while gazing at the stars, and there are lots of stars. We had our two cocker spaniels with us who also enjoyed themselves. We loved it, hoping to return again."
