  • Beautiful, immaculate, peaceful, accommodating cottage in a great location!!!

"My husband and I were visiting the Oakland/Bay area for a wedding and we stayed in this Rockridge/Berkeley cottage. We could not be more happy that we stayed there for our week in California. The cottage is even more beautiful than the pictures. The cottage is immaculate and has everything you could possibly need. It is in walking distance to Bart and so many shops, restaurants and even a Trader Joe's. The owners made everything very easy. If we are in the area again, we will definitely stay there again. Thank you for our wonderful week at the cottage!!!!"

  • gorgeous, cozy space

"What we love!-- The place was comfortable, cozy, and easy to settle into. The directions to the house and guidelines for usage were clear and helpful. The movie selection was nice and the lighting inside and all around the property were EXCEPTIONAL. The view of the trees and near by trails made nature therapy really easy. The kitchen was user friendly and stocked with equipment. Being dog and family friendly is another huge plus. The view from the hot tub was the perfect addition to cold rainy days. Some things we would've liked different-- We're environmentally aware bunch so there were a couple of things we wished were different. The upstairs living room was drafty and hard to heat, even with a fire. The bedroom windows, not being insulated, let out a lot of heat so being encouraged to not use multiple towels seemed like a minor earth friendly feature compared to the major waste of heat escaping constantly. Being concerned with Teflon poisoning, we mainly used the stainless steel cooking ware because the non-stick cooking ware were scratched up probably from previous guests not following kitchen directions. Not sure if you can do anything about it, but the neighbor's dogs barked and barked, making for prolonged noisy departures and arrivals. We would have liked more detailed instructions on using the entertainment systems and the thermostats in the bedrooms as they were not user-friendly."

  • Beyond Expectations

"We came to Marin County from Houston, Texas to enjoy the outdoor splendor and temperate climate. We hiked every day for hours. It was not necessary to even get in the car on two of our days. We hiked from the DipSea stairs that start right around the corner from this home and went over Mount Tamalpais and into the Muir Woods. I cannot recommend it more to active travelers. I would note that handicapped or older people would find the stairs to the unit troubling, but they were just fine for us. Greg (the owner) gave us great counsel on which trails to take, and he was right every time. Walking into Mill Valley from the unit (or the top of Mt Tam) is easy and fun. Getting into SF or up to Point Reyes were both easy too. We only bought two meals during our week-long stay in Marin. This kitchen provided all that was needed to cook, and we obviously cooked a great deal. The air smells like bay leaves and honeysuckle, and it feels like you are staying in an enchanted forest. Be prepared not to want to leave."

  • Unforgettable 50th Birthday!

"We just returned from this wonderful property where we celebrated my husband's 50th birthday with our extended family. We could not have chosen a better spot! The large, incredibly equipped kitchen and the long dining room table allowed our whole group to cook and eat a great meal of local foods together. We also spent a lot of time enjoying the cool, giant fireplace. During the days, we took hikes, made short trips to Point Reyes for bike riding and local shopping and went paddle boarding on the bay!! At night, each couple had their own bedrooms with wonderful beds and attached bathrooms! So there was the perfect blend of "together time" and privacy. The only down side I can mention would be that two of the space heaters upstairs were not working. I've told the owner about this and I'm sure it will be remedied because she certainly seems to care about details and comfort! We would definitely love to return!"
